Financial Fair Play investigation

Just laughable that City can bend all the rules, Chelsea can splash £600m in 12 months, and we're the only ones set to be punished. Yes, we deserve to be punished, but others have committed worse crimes than us and get away with it.
Chelsea might well have spent 600m, but most of it was spread over 8 years.

They also earn around 600m a year income.

Not quite sure why people keep bringing Chelsea up.

If they broke the rules, they will be punished, we broke the rules.

To be fair to the premier league, they are trying to stop city breaking all the rules..... It will just come down to how much they can wriggle out of. But for them, the worst reasonable scenario is expulsion from the league. For us, it is (at least) far less bad.....(if found guilty of course).

On Chelsea, they will find it hard to meet FFP, but have plenty of people they can sell to balance the books. We can sell.... well.. Pickford???

Yeah it'll definitely be next season. In the Moyes years we could've absorbed any of the discussed points deduction numbers.

If we get enough points this season to stay up, it means we've had a pretty remarkable run since Dyche came in. Is it inconceivable that we could get an extra 12 points next season as the players get more into his system? Maybe Simms steps up or Dominic Calvert-Lewin is miraculously fit for more of it? Absolutely not out the question - 4 wins in the sort of games he wins that Lampard loses (e.g. Wolves, Southampton, maybe Leicester + 1 more home win, or even 3 more away draws vs this season's losses). deduction anything from the 5-10 mark and we still might not get relegated.

As long as it IS a different season, its not definitively the end for us if it happens. and actually, if the scenario above came about wouldn't that be better than a transfer ban?
Surely one would come with the other, if the case is around transfers dealings/overspending then I can't see why it wouldn't be both.

The Premier league want to paint themselves in a good picture and that starts off with making an example of a club, we are that club and we have breached the conditions of their 'so called rules' we have brought this upon ourselves.
So we are that perfect place to start for the 'premier league'.

In there eyes, we're not to big to lose for the league to carry on as the 'Greatest league' in world football...

The worst thing is our hope on the pitch this season and potential escape of relegation could mean nothing if we fail in the courtroom.

Just one clarification mate.

It's the Premier League not the FA.

And it's referred by the Premier League to an independent commission
I get ya.

But I still call it the FA just like I call our league "Division 1" and the peanutty chocolate bar is marathon.

Be arsed going along with fancy new packaging.

Man City is still in progress but definitely charged.

Chelsea might be fine to 2022, because of past profits but to 2023 that'll be extremely interesting. Kieran Maguire thinks Chelsea okay to 2022 but this predated the £600m splurge, included and was despite a £123.2m profit on disposal of players and was before the costs of sacking Tuchel and hiring Potter.

They lost £121.2m last season but the devil will be in the detail. Perhaps they have accelerated amortisation into a big player Impairment at a more favourable time I dunno.

Thanks

A lot of accountancy tricks in that 600 mill spend though, it's not like that whole sum is factored in. The fees are staggered over 8 year contracts.

Not a huge fan of the “Everyone is out to get us” conspiracy theories, we have made quite the mess. But Independent Commission = FFP VAR

And the rest. Getting mentally prepared for the worse case scenario tbh, despite all the cooperation and openness we’ve supposedly shown.

Matt Law has just tweeted that Chelsea are holding a fire sale to get in line with FFP.
It'll be interesting to see if any other teams are going to be looked at, i know we're bad but the likes Villa and West Ham have spent an insane amount over the last few years. Wolves too.

Spreads the cost for sure.

Easiest way is to add up the reported fees and divide by the average length of contract...easier said than done! All the same past losses will feed in for better and worse.

Wolves are an example of a club that was stinted in their quest to be successful. Leicester another. A perfect example of FFP killing a club with ambition. It will be interesting to see what happens to Newcastle.

Read his past posts. Called Onana a Judas. Went on a tirade about how we could never beat Brentford and then made out how Southampton could. Said about one our wins that we brought the other team down to our level and that Leeds, saints and Bournemouth are all better teams than us. (This mainly during March).

Seems fishy.
I had a feeling I had seen him write some garbage before, and I was right. I should of had a look through his posts, just like you suggested tbh
