So, what you’re saying is, that nothing he has said is untrue.

and that’s the difficult medicine we have to take.

put whatever crazy nonsense spin on it you feel you need to to justify your existence, but you agree he‘s right.

Not one of us wants him to be right, but you know as well as I do that he is.

I know you like it to be the Dave K show, you know, say something absurd and then defend it to the hilt for giggles… but this is real, it’s not fanboyism. We’re in the mire and all the BS in the world won’t change that.
No, what I'm saying is that he does not have full possession of the facts. He's reading off the same accounts in the public domain that everyone else has access to. The only people who know why Everton have been referred are Everton and the PL. He's using guesswork to come up with stuff and gossip: "I hear the case might be about a player EFC couldn't sell in time to keep in line with PL guidance". He doesn't know that's the reason, he's fishing about. So stop giving this feller the authority he clerarly doesn't have. He runs a podcast and wants people to listen to it. This feller has his own priorities.

And the feller is billed as an academic connected to Liverpool University. I'm serious about this when I ask whether that institution thinks it's a great idea that someone associated with them is spilling information from private conversations with Everton into the public domain. If I were the chancellor of that university I'd want to know wtf was going on with him. But I guess that Maguire has made the calculation that no one will give a flying one about Everton and he can get away with it. There is NO WAY whatsover if this was Liverpool or United he'd be divulging in a critical way any private correspondence between himself and them. NONE whatsoever.

So you carry on lionising this feller if you want and telling me about his liberty to run down this club in a period it is most vulnerable and I'll continue to reserve the right to call him out as a charlatan with a personal axe to grind.

Bill loves people like you, LOVES THEM.

Hes not attacking Everton, hes attacking the way its been run, he has only ever said good things about Everton Football Club.
lol lol lol

And of course you take that to be sincere.

FFS!

He says that to set up the demolition job and try and make it not look partisan.

Anyway, good luck to you if you want to talk up a bell end like that.

Dave "Everton is spending money like drunken sailors"
Kevin Maguire "I agree Dave"
Dave "Stop ATTACKING EVERTON"
Exactly. I made that critique years ago when that feller was finishing his boring thesis no doubt.

But it isn't about that in any case. You need to disentangle the terrible spending and misgovernance from the PL referral....something your hero cant do, obviously.

Jesus did anyone read what I wrote? There are plenty of reasons for wanting change which do not delve into the numbers if you are an Evertonian.

I am an avid supporter of the protests and I want them all out and my posting history supports this. What I am saying is there will plenty of outside scrutiny focussing on the numbers which could see a significant punishment inflicted on the club if found guilty.

In my opinion writing about the numbers only brings more focus in that lamentable area of our performance - if there wasn’t a risk of punishment I would fully support the articles. It feels like they are being written to remove BK, DBB and FM but at what potential cost to the club when mainstream media outlets are picking those articles up.

There’s enough material out there to hang them with, without attracting more attention to a subject on which we are under investigation.

An independent commision is looking directly at our accounts, set up by an organisation who has been monitoring our accounts for over a year... that horse has literally bolted long ago. This isn't additional focus. Half the league has a vested interest in this.

He's an expert on football finance.... with strong local and club connections. He's using all of his expertise and information at his disposal to provide analysis that we should all be interested in. He's literally doing his job.

It doesn't. It doesn't harm it either. The independent commission will investigate the facts rather than stories and fan forum messages.

Unless you think the commission is out to get us. Even then the stories make no difference.
No I don’t think anyone is out to get us at all and it’s completely on the club for placing themselves in the firing line (I appreciate there are unusual factors at play like losing sponsorship) - like I have previously said I just don’t see the point of our own supporters shining a spotlight on it - it will make no difference whatsoever to the ruling but will have a potential impact no matter how big or small in the court of public opinion, so I don’t see what good it does…..any way I’ve said enough on the matter and it just an opinion

His job, as far as I can tell, is to add listeners to the half a million he has listening to his podcast every week. He's an entertainer/broadcaster first and foremost, and their tendency is to hype up and sensationalise in order to get clicks.

He's an expert in football finance? Ok, then why is he indulging in gossip of the "I didn't hear this from the club but I heard it locally" variety? And why is he literally broadcasting what he knows to be sensitive private messaging from the club? Presumably he has at least some professional standards?

Maybe he should stick to the boring finances. Though as he said himself about his job, it is "humdrum work", so I understand his need to sensationalise and - again as he stated - even "be mean to Everton". That's just part of the job as a light entertainer on social media, I suppose.

In brief: if anyone believes Maguire to be an objective voice on EFCs referal to the PL commission they need their head feeling.

A bit of messenger shooting going on , I see.
Exactly. Despite mountains of evidence, and what is clear to everyone who has been observing the club over recent years, some people are deluded enough to believe the propaganda from the Everton board, and slag off people who try to bring the situation to the attention of fans.

A genuinely baffling mindset.

If the referral is based on not being able to sell a player in time, surely they won't be harsh punishment for that? And we did sell Gordon in January and spent nothing.

That was hardly a surprise either. They may conclude that we've broken the rules but they can't conclude it's a flagrant breach without doing anything to correct it.
