He's an expert on football finance.... with strong local and club connections. He's using all of his expertise and information at his disposal to provide analysis that we should all be interested in. He's literally doing his job.

I'll take no instruction on opposing the Everton hierarchy from you: someone who worshipped Moshiri and still even now does not call for his removal.

If / when points deductions are incurred then you'll be in no position to complain about that as you and people like you have been agitating for it.

His job, as far as I can tell, is to add listeners to the half a million he has listening to his podcast every week. He's an entertainer/broadcaster first and foremost, and their tendency is to hype up and sensationalise in order to get clicks.

He's an expert in football finance? Ok, then why is he indulging in gossip of the "I didn't hear this from the club but I heard it locally" variety? And why is he literally broadcasting what he knows to be sensitive private messaging from the club? Presumably he has at least some professional standards?

Maybe he should stick to the boring finances. Though as he said himself about his job, it is "humdrum work", so I understand his need to sensationalise and - again as he stated - even "be mean to Everton". That's just part of the job as a light entertainer on social media, I suppose.

In brief: if anyone believes Maguire to be an objective voice on EFCs referal to the PL commission they need their head feeling.

Make your mind up, you're having a go at him for using stuff he's heard from outside the club, then condemning him for releasing info he's gleaned direct from the club too.

You haven't addressed any of his points other than attempting to conflate arguments and a ridiculous character assasination.

He's a broadcaster on the subject because of his expertise and his contacts in the industry, and has written extensively on the subject for multiple clubs. So it is laughable to be questioning his credentials or motives against the backdrop of our club....

IMO only the most naive fan who isn’t mature enough to accept their club is a shambles would take that view - given everything we know.

It’s not about being binary. It’s about a journalist giving an objective but critical opinion on the financial state of the club. A situation where there is mountains of evidence to back up what he is saying. Something anyone paying attention will be aware of. It’s about people being deluded enough to think he’s wrong and slagging him off.
