Even at -50 I'd bet on city still staying up.For Everton yes, but City no chance at all. A 10 point penalty likely relegates us, whereas City would need about a 50 point deduction to stand a chance of going down. Not happening.

Quick question from me (apologies if answered)….if P&S / FFP‘s calculations exclude investment in infrastructure which I would imagine any expenditure on the stadium represents, why are we being referred?
It's possible that the tax issue may relate to new loans on which the club has charges of £20m a year. (Moshiri's loans were interest free.)Something to do with a tax issue on a loan isn’t it? Can’t see how we get deducted points for that but it is us so we will see.
City clearly not concerned with the independent body and their 115 charges, spaffing £70 mill on Paqueta, whilst we are pawning the family silver to make ends meet.
The whole thing is a farce and is taking way too long to get sorted, especially in our case and the one solitary charge!?!
Surely that would be a HMRC issue and not a P&S issue? It's possible that the tax issue may relate to new loans on which the club has charges of £20m a year. (Moshiri's loans were interest free.)
The club may not have realised that Building Construction Loan charges, unlike other business loans, cannot be set against tax until the building is in use for its intended purpose. Consequently, the club had £20m more to pay out than allowed for and overspent, going over the debt limit.
Crazy if so.
Surely that would be a HMRC issue and not a P&S issue?
Its an interesting point you make, protect them at all costs while they line up this eventual "Super League" format. reeks to me, what football has become is unrecognisable now.FFP was brought in to protect the big 6, I’m convinced that after the whole ESL debacle that the Premier League and UEFA have said to them teams we will tighten up even more on teams below you, to protect you even more.
I remember buzzing when I had a son as I could take him to watch us, but the older I get the more I see that the arse has proper fell out of football. Teams like us are just there to exist, 99% of the trophies are won by the same teams and that’s the same with CL qualification as well. The price of players and wages now means to bridge that gap is even bigger than before, but you have less money to do it with if you aren’t one of those big teams.
I’m hoping my lad gets into golf and isn’t interested in going the match, or I’ll start taking him to non-league and he enjoys it. It’s only going to get worse before it gets better and to get better it will probably need an ESL setting up and all the so called big teams leave to go and play in that.
Tosspot of the highest order that fella. Deleted his account now.Kieran Maguire has gone quiet over this. After his spring offensive against Everton declaring that we'd be getting a points deduction he's nowhere to be seen.

What a disgrace. Insulting the memory of a young man killed doing his job.
@Tom Hughes do you still think this feller's a serious figure and not part of the entertainments industry...and one with an axe to grind against Everton?
I ask again more generally: do his employees at Liverpool University know what he's doing online?
That's a response you'd be ashamed to see from an 11 year old. If Maguire has a reputation for serious analysis and comment on football's business side then that comment alone should rip it into tatters. What a disgrace. Insulting the memory of a young man killed doing his job.

That's not exactly the full condemantion I was hoping and expecting to read. He's an Academic who specialises in Football finances......regardless of any poor taste comments or perceived propensity to have a dig at Everton.
Let's face it, the whole fanbase have an axe to grind with our club...... for good reason! The club has been a financial basket case for decades (with and/or without rich backers), to say otherwise because you don't like a particular commentator is like shooting the messenger.
Rest assured no-one will be stripping this fella off his qualifications, job or platform.
