Financial Fair Play investigation

On the question of how the Premier League can propose a penalty, see the Times today;

“It is understood the Premier League believes a breach of profitability and sustainability (P&S) rules should carry sanctions up to a points deduction.

In such cases, an independent commission will take submissions from both parties in the case, the Premier League and the club, on what they believe an appropriate sanction should be if a rule breach has been proved, but the decision is entirely at the discretion of the commission.”

So the Premier League suggest 12 points deduction and Everton propose that we have Mbappe on loan for 6 months, we can meet in the middle?

Lots of talk earlier about the PL being equivalent the prosecution and fully able to recommend a punishment. Nonsense. People assigning knowledge they may very well have about corporate or criminal law and applying it to something totally different.

Independent body with the committee holding the power to assign guilt and punishment. PL may well want a 74 point penalty but it’s irrelevant. We want 0 penalties and all legal fees paid; also irrelevant.

The wording of everything written today is a load of rubbish. “Up to 12 points”, “could be”, “maximum, “alleged.” Nothing written today mentions our total lack of spending of late, cooperation with the PL, being absolved 18 months ago. Took about 4 hours and some prodding by Captain Spitalot for the media to bravely say “what about city”.

Now, if we have broken any written rule, or made any misrepresentations, we will rightly be punished (not just coz the PL, Leeds fans and Daily Mail hate us, we would deserve it). I fear that may be the case; no surprise at all if we have ballsed something up. But we are definitely in no better or worse position than we were 24 hours ago.

If the papers know something (pretty big if) then they will report it, as they should.

If they are scaremongering (more likely) then it is pretty poor form given the recent news.

On a scale of bone dry to full bladder release, how soggy should my sheets be?

Reminds me of this....
Once upon a time, there was a nonconforming sparrow who decided not to fly south for the winter. However, soon the weather turned so cold that he reluctantly started southward. In a short time, ice began to form on his wings and he fell to earth in a barnyard, almost frozen. A cow passed by and crapped on the little sparrow. The sparrow thought it was the end. But then the manure warmed him and defrosted his wings. Warm and happy, able to breathe, he started to sing. Just then a large cat came by and hearing the chirping, investigated the sounds. The cat cleared away the manure, found the chirping sparrow and promptly ate him.

Now, it may seem that there are no lessons here, but there are. In fact, there are three:

1. Everyone who shits on you is not necessarily your enemy.
2. Everyone who gets you out of [Poor language removed] is not necessarily your friend.
3. If you’re warm and happy in a pile of [Poor language removed], keep your mouth shut.

All the papers are reporting 12 points, seems like it's common knowledge amongst the rats.
We are being made scapegoats, City will kick it around various courts until it's forgotten.

If it ends up being -12 Dyche will really have to up his game.

No point messing about with draws, it needs to be all gun's blazing go for the wins.

Nothing to lose at that point.

If the club is given a 12 point deduction surely it couldn't be imposed until start of next season rather than midway through this season?

Twelve is the maximum. My guess it will be somewhere in between. Four -six points. Ideally suspended deduction. I wonder who is doing our representation from the club.
