The PL has made a total mess of the whole thing. Clubs lining up to sue us for £100m each (good luck) because the punishments were not dished out in the same season as the rule breach. And yet it’s highly likely City could be punished after us for breaches years and years before ours. Same for Chelsea.

It would be ludicrous to penalise us this year then Chelsea and City next year or later. Penalise us 10 points right now, Chelsea 30, and City 100. Nice clean slate with all outstanding cases finally dealt with. We just need to stay above Sheffield United and them, Chelsea and City go down. We then join forces with the other whinging clubs to take legal action for lost PL prize money over all the years City broke the rules, use some of it to throw at Leeds, use the rest to buy Richy.

That really doesn't shed any light on it, but it's to do with P&S rules for sure.

It’s all P&S. I always thought part of the PL P&S rules was to comply with UEFA’s FFP rules. But UEFA binned them off after 2017 and called their new rules something else. FFP has just become the umbrella term for everything related to using financial restrictions to preserve the status quo.

Not only a conspiracy against Everton but an international conspiracy no less.

I'm sorry but it's madness to think that there is a plot against Everton.

It is simply that we are much easier to prosecute a case against.

The PL are going for the low hanging fruit.
 
The Southampton comparison makes me laugh, 7 1/2 years on and they still haven't gotten over Koeman. More of the "Who the hell do Everton think they are?" attitude. In part, those fans and others make up a large portion of those who would just love a hefty punishment and/or relegation. There will always be clappers for others' misery.
 
Will we ever see any of the evidence presented in this case? Will there be an explanation given for any of the decisions made? It seems bizarre to me how opaque this whole procedure is. This has been going on for months and not a single person can actually explain what the precise nature of the breach in P&S rules that is alleged actually pertains to. Is it the stadium tax issue or is that a load of nonsense? Who knows?

PL "comrades, we don't really know what is going on but heck we saw their accounts and they have made a bunch of losses so it looks like they've done something wrong, so can you guys investigate and let us know if they have, and if they have done something wrong then just deduct them 12 points or something"

Everton "erm you approved everything we did"

PL "yeah but hey the game is the game and we've been getting a bunch of angry e-mails from other clubs so you know to keep the peace we have to do something"

They didnt approve everything we did.

This myth that we went to them before we spent money is laughable.

Sure we had a degree of oversight, but they didnt approve a single thing.

Everton "ok, well if you do something to us, will you do it to other clubs in a similar or worse situation re. rule breaches?"

PL "eh... em.... well the thing is.. they've got really good legal teams so we could lose our shirts. How about we make a donation to EITC, no actually we probably cant do that"

If they did approve everything we did, there is no case to answer and the entire thing has been done at the behest of clubs looking for their pound of flesh on this.

I don't really think it's a matter of their approval or otherwise, more was the information provided to the PL in the course of gaining approval, for whatever, accurate, whole, and truthful?

If it wasn't, and the charge arose because that was discovered subsequently, then we are up the proverbial creek.

I didn't say that Southampton fans compared themselves to us(although they might you would have to ask them). I said that my brother ( an Everton fan from Liverpool) said that is how we are viewed generally by people who live around him . I didn't like it when he said it. What 30 years of nothing does for your reputation

The Premier League isnt damaging its brand for no reason.

We broke the rules, we got caught, we will get punished.
