And this is without the talismanic Gavi who's ridiculous on his own.

England don't have that with Declan and the rest.

I was at Eden Park on Saturday night...terrific game between All Blacks and England. England RFU have appointed a manager who embraces change and a bit of verve. The FA need to do similar. England have the playing personnel to be so much better.
But hey-ho...onwards and upwards...and I'm actually quite excited for Everton this impending season...

Palmer definitely needs to play more. There’s problems at the base of midfield as well, I don’t think Rice is good enough tthis level. He’s just not good enough on the ball. Either give Wharton a proper go or have Mainoo be the sole sitter.

Not as gutted as after losing to Italy last time. Spain have been the best team this tournament, thoroughly deserved.

Southgate has done a good job and transformed the national team, but a new manager and approach might be best at this point.

I agree that Rice is quite limited as a player in terms of what he can do with the ball. He had a great season with Arsenal but its much easier when you play with someone as good as Odegard who takes all the responsibility for moving the ball forward. During this tournament, Rice didn't show much to suggest he is able to move the ball forward and get the front line into the game.

England had Spain on the back foot when they were chasing the equaliser and guess what? They scored. Then in typical fashion we just say back playing for pens. I wouldn’t say it was extremely successful at all rather extremely lucky.

The football was crap.

So that’s 2 lucky finals, a lucky world cup semi and quarter final.
People say ‘we should be winning with the team we have’ cos they think the world revolves round the premier league.
