F.A Cup First Round
6th November 2032

Last season's semi-finalists Fylde hosted Chesterfield in the first round of the competition. After four consecutive defeats, the board were beginning to worry and Ferguson made changes for the match. Macrae and Whitehead-Davies played at Centre Back. Wisdom and Wilson in midfield and Marshall played behind Carey. Colm Goode was back from injury and was determined to make his loan spell successful. He was on the bench. Fylde were coming forward with Henderson and he knocked it forward for John Jones to cross, the ball was cleared and picked up by Wilson. He passed it to Marshall and Marshall kept it moving to Henderson who found the run into the box of Jones, he beat the defender with a great piece of trickery but his shot was into the side netting. John Jones took the corner on 31 minutes, the ball was missed by the Chesterfield defender and Marshall came in with a stabbing shot to knock the ball past the keeper! Great finish! It's all Fylde here and Chesterfield can't get out of their own half, the ball was played long into the box for Henderson and he was brought down, it's a penalty! Can Henderson make it two? Yes he can! Into the bottom right corner! On 41 minutes, Jones took the free-kick, Carey went up but was beaten to the header, the ball came out to Marshall and he hit it first time into the back of the net, 3-0! What a dominant first half! John Jones was having an excellent game and his delivery was exceptional, he crossed into the box and Bytheway headed low towards goal but the keeper got across to save. The first half is the best we've seen from Fylde this season. They are rampant. Wisdom and Wilson have had total control over this match and everything is starting with them. Colm Goode was introduced for Russell Carey with 25 minutes to go for some much needed game time. Fylde were solid at the back and Chesterfield could not get close. It's an emphatic win and one they duly needed. Into the second round they go!

DF: Now that's what I'm looking for, play your football and enjoy it. We dominated and we kept Chesterfield out of the match. We have to keep this up. I seen some very pleasing performances today and I'm pleased with how Whitehead-Davies and Macrae both linked up together, it was natural and they have never played together. I'm happy to go into the second round and now let's see who we get.

AFC Fylde vs Port Vale
EFL Trophy

It was only a handful of changes for thr last group match of the EFL Trophy. Greg Taylor was handed only his second start of the season and Steve Stockbridge lined up at right back. Darren Morris played on the right and Colm Goode led the line for Fylde. Morris switched the play for Greg Taylor, he crossed on his right foot and Henderson got his head to it which he tried to guide towards the top corner but it was inches over. Colm Goode went down after a tackle on 37 minutes and the stretcher came on to take him off. He isn't having much luck with injuries. Russell Carey replaced him. Fylde advanced forward in the second half, Wilson played in Greg Taylor and his shot was tipped over the bar. Joe Donnelly came on for Euan Henderson on 55 minutes. Port Vale caught Fylde on the counter attack, Bolton sent it down the middle for Mooney and he volleyed into the top corner for the first goal of the game. If the result stays like this, Fylde could be going out. Wilson got the ball forward aiming for Carey but he lost out on the header, Ferguson picked it up, made space and unleashed a low drive into the bottom corner! 1-1! A minute to play and Bolton came forward, Macrae tackled well but it was picked up by Prout who sprayed it left for Flanagan, brilliant tackle from Morris who conceded the corner. Barron took the corner and Owens headed towards goal but it was easy for Dube to hold on to. 90 minutes was up and the winner was to be decided on penalties. The penalties entered sudden death and we came to the ninth kick. It was Renaldo Downey to take it, on loan at Fylde last season, he blazed over the bar. Darren Morris had the chance to end the shoot-out and he kept it low and into the corner! Fylde win and top the group! They'll be into the draw for the EFL Trophy Second Round.

AFC Fylde vs Aldershot
13th November 2032

Fylde had lost the last four league games and if they wanted to be in the hunt for promotion they would need to turn it around today. It was a strong selection for Fylde and Henderson will be hoping to get himself scoring again just like he used to. Sinn'kaye Osborne was in goal for Fylde with Jimmy Dube away with Zimbabwe. Aldershot were penning Fylde back and Osborne was shocked when the ball struck the post and he was rooted to the spot. Macrae tackled brilliantly to deny the opener and Morton cleared away. Shouts of "wake up" rang around Mill Farm. Wilson came forward on 17 minutes, he passed to Henderson but he wasn't in space so he played it back. Wilson sent it left for the run of John Jones and he crossed at pace towards the back post and Bytheway came in with a crashing hit that rocked the net! 1-0! The fans are ecstatic! Joe Scarr was whipping balls in from the right and Whitehead-Davies was there to head away. The ball was played back to Scarr and he crossed beating the jump of Whitehead-Davies finding Robinson at the back post and he beat Osborne to level. Fylde were playing out from the back, Wilson got it wide to Bytheway and he played a great bal forward to Carey who only had the keeper to beat but he shot straight into his arms. Carey was having a tough time in front of goal, Bytheway played the ball into the box in the pouring rain, Carey left it for Henderson and he showed him how it is done! 2-1! Great tap in from Euan Henderson! Fylde defended well in the last few minutes, Whitehead-Davies was excellent dealing with the aerial balls. Fylde picked up the win putting an end to their losing streak in the league!

Burton Albion vs AFC Fylde

A full week since their last fixture and the injury table was getting bigger. Mick Wisdom, Darren Morris and Colm Goode were ruled out. Ferguson demanded more from Fylde after the first 20 minutes were largely dominated by Burton but no keeper was really tested. The passing wasn't clicking for Fylde in the first half, Henderson was unable to find space and Burton were limiting their football. Thompson went past Jones on the right and switched it to Anderson but Bytheway was in with a great tackle and came forward, he had Morton in support, Fylde were being crowded on on the right side, Wilson took it from Morton and got it to Uttridge who played it forward to Henderson, he played a great through ball into the box and Carey got it on to his left foot and drove it low into the bottom right corner, 1-0! Fylde won the ball back again on 36 minutes, Bytheway tackling and Morton taking the loose ball, they worked it forward, Carey dropped deep to receive it and sent Henderson on his way down the left, he passed it to Carey and he found Mark Morton running into the box, Morton was tripped and the referee gave the penalty! Euan Henderson stepped up and went for the top right corner but the keeper saved it! Another miss for Henderson! Fylde desperately needed a second goal but on 75 minutes, Matthew Thompson was allowed to run at the Fylde defence and it opened up for him to curl it into the top corner, 1-1. The game ran into stoppage time, Jones took the corner with a great ball into the box finding the head of McKimm-Forster who powered it into the top corner! 2-1 to Fylde! What a header! Fylde tried to slow the game down and were defending the aerial balls well. The away crowd roared as the final whistle is blown and it's a great win for Fylde! They now close the gap to six points to leaders Preston.

DF: That header from McKimm-Forster was one I'm extremely proud of! I love a last minute winner but I love a header even more! I'm not saying we have turned it around after we lost ground on the teams above but we are getting stuck in and have got back to winning matches. We need to continue in this vein and if we can, we have a chance of getting something from this season.
