Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

FYLDE FALL IN THE AUTUMN

Fylde's form took a nosedive in October only managing to grab 4 points from a possible 18. Noots County took the lead at Mill Farm but an own goal late on managed to salvage a point for Fylde. Ther performance was not pleasing and it did not improve. Danny Rowe scored against FC Halifax and Fylde and up until the 75th minute, Fylde looked like they might snatch victory. Martin squared it to Odelusi who hit it first time past Russell Griffiths. Not a Fylde player near him. In form Leyton Orient took an early lead in the third minute. Nathan Price latched onto a long ball deep from inside his own half and brought it down with instant control before putting it past Griffiths. Fylde played some nice football in the build up to the goal working it from inside their own half. Hardy played it to East who then put a through ball forward for Rowe who took one look up and poked it home. Fylde should have made it two when Rowe was shoved in the box and won a penalty. The keeper guessed the right way and the game finished level.

It was F.A. Cup Week and a visit to Braintree. Fylde put out a strong side for the competition and it was Rowe and Wright-Phillips with the goals inside first half injury time. Braintree had a chance to get back into the game three minutes into the second half but Wade-Slater crashed his penalty against the bar and failed to capitlise on the rebound. Fylde got through the second half without too much threat and qualify for the first round.

A trip to Sutton finished goalless with a good defensive display put in from the home side. Not an easy game for the Coasters as Sutton were happy to defend the onslaught for most of the game. Fylde will need to work on how to unlock parked teams.

Fylde were the more dominant side against Dagenham but struggled to turn that possession into reward. A total of 17 shots as opposed to Dagenham's 7 and it just looked like a goal was not going to come. The only goal coming from a corner after being headed onto the far post, back across goal and tapped in by Nathan Cameron. It looks as though Fylde have a lot of work to put in at this stage to start getting points on the board.

Ryan East put Fylde 1-0 up from a long range effort but Billericay hit back three minutes later through Kyle Scott on the counter attack. Stephen Dooley scored from the edge of the box with a curling shot to make it 2-1 five minutes later and took the game into half-time at 2-1. A lack of concentration broke out for Fylde and before they knew it had been pegged back then found themselves 3-2 down with Adam Jackson scoring two. Yann Mabella scored the 4th for Billericay in the 63rd minute and the cracks started to appear from the Fylde players and on the forehead of manager Duncan Ferguson. A poor month for Fylde and Ferguson but he has turned it round before so can he do it again?
