Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

Harsh Jimmy but probably what the doctor ordered

Do us a favour though and make sure the lettering has all dried properly. We don't want the same thing to happen when we left it wet away to Morecambe 6 years ago. Dave still hasn't recovered from it.
Dave hasn't been back since that game. And he's back for his first game on Saturday. What's the chances of another Fylde bedsheet welcome.

Oh jesus. I’d almost forgotten about Morcambe away. Im still barred from the Globe and have an ongoing Twitter spat with the local mayor.
Dave’s a fanny

I know mate, I think once he realised it wasn't Bovril dripping down his face he's never lived it down.

Looking forward to seeing Dave again, apparently since we last seen him he's got divorced and married again. That's his 6th wife and the tattoos down his arm is starting to look like his mum's shopping list apparently

I think cos the mayors son owns one of the local garages Jimmy and he's constantly trying to undercut you with your high performance low cost 2nd hand tyres he's never gonna leave you in peace.

I know folk say Jim is out of the game but he's not out out and he still dips his toes back in the game so maybe have a word with Jim who'll "fix it" if you know what I mean wink wink nod nod mums the word

Absolute joke Ferguson. Laura Merrin, of Instagram & Fylde ladies fame, was right to not let you destroy her tight anus. You're walking a tight rope, your team is like you, only turns up for a few games a season! Big Sam in!
Big Sam in where? The Fylde hot chair or hunting for Laura's gravy?

Because I don't think either situation is that bad.

FYLDE STAY IN PROMOTION HUNT

Fylde were certainly not at their best in their F.A. Trophy encounter with Chesterfield. A 1-0 win sufficed for Chesterfield as they scored 2 minutes into the second half. The goal coming from Kenneth Eneramo. Chesterfield could have scored a few more this afternoon but Russell Griffiths maintained his magnificent form and kept the scoreline to a minimum. A tough away game for Fylde but now they can return to league action and continue their push for promotion, even though fans believe they cannot muster up a strong challenge this season.

The televised game of the weekend came away to Barrow but it was not the greatest game as Barrow, who are fighting for their National League lives kept Fylde at bay and came away with a point. Denver Hum and Luke Burke were a class above as they got to the byline often to put some good crosses for Danny Rowe but Barrow dealt with Rowe effectively and the physicality of Barrow secured them a draw. The bad news came on 35 minutes after Stephen Dooley was hacked down causing him to leave the field. It later emerged Dooley had broken his ankle and will be out for four months missing the rest of the season.

Fylde were desperate for a win to keep their promotion bid on track but after 63 minutes it was Harrogate who stole the lead after Mathis was played in behind but his cross was cleared by Ryan Reynolds poorly to the launching volley of Duggan who belted it in off the the underside of the bar. Now Harrogate were content to sit on this lead and deal with any Fylde attack with no nonsense football. It was Danny Rowe who found James Hardy out wide, Hardy got to the 18 yard box and saw the run of Ashley Hemmings coming in at the far post, a ball across the defence found Hemmings who placed it home with stumbling keeper Ward unable to make a scramble for it. The game finished 1-1 and Fylde rescued a late point. Supporter concerns were becoming an issue for Ferguson.

DF: I understand the frustration. It's four draws on the bounce and we need to be better than this. Fortunately for us, teams around us are dropping points but we need to be taking advantage of this. We need wins.

The turnaround came a week later against York City. Ashley Hemmings scoring on 30 seconds after taking the ball forward through the York half remaining unchallenged. He took a chance and it paid off as a left footed strike from outside the box rolled past the York keeper giving Fylde an excellent start. It was a good afternoon for Fylde and they duly played well, York could not get near them. Denver Hume crossed into the box and found James Hardy at the far post, the York back line sleeping again as he planted it into the net. A good 2-0 win for The Coasters.

A good game at Mill Farm but no goals as third place Maidstone could not beat defiant Russell Griffiths. The Fylde keeper aming some wonderful saves. Fylde could not break forward with much regularity and it was Maidstone who will be disappointed not to take all three points.

An impressive away performance as Fylde kept up with the pack. Max Haygarth scoring a wonderful effort with a left footed volley into the top corner from 20 yards out. Ashley Hemmings finished the job in the 72nd minute and it was a comfortable afternoon for The Coasters. Hemmings has been in terrific form since coming into the side and his contribution has not gone unnoticed from the gaffer.

Danny Rowe put an end to his goal drought scoring with his head followed by a great finish form Wright Phillips who took it past 3 Macclesfield players and curled it round the keeper to give Fylde a 2 goal cushion. Macclesfield grabbed a goal back 5 minutes later and it was a nailbiting finish as Macclesfield penned Fylde deep inside their own half and launched ball after ball forward to try and cause a threat. It was a nervy final few minutes and as we went over 95 minutes Duncan Ferguson stood in the face of the fourth official demanding for the whistle. Ferguson was pushed back by his coach Darren Huckerby who had to calm down the Fylde manager. The whistle blew and it wasn't celebration as Ferguson waited for the match official to ask why time carried on past the initial 5 minutes. Another good win for Fylde but the fiery temper of Duncan Ferguson cast a shadow over a pleasing victory.

Good to see Ashley Hemmings turning in a series of decent performances. He's been loyal to the club and never complained about mostly being a squad player rather than a starter. The keeper, Griffiths, also deserves some praise because how many of those thirteen draws would have been losses but for him? We seem to be missing Andy Bond, both in terms of the regular goals he contributed and also for his leadership.

Whisper it, but I don't see us getting past the first round of the playoffs at this rate. Too many players off form with only twelve games to go... suddenly that Falkirk job doesn't look so bad.

Good analysis. Hemmings really has stepped up and Russell is probably the best keeper in this league on current form. The whole team really needs to step up now.

I don't see the coasters and Ferguson travelling the same road after this season. If he was as good as he is supposed to be we'd be up a division about to go up again.

I think it's promotion or bust this season. Will he get another job in football at a higher level? Has he done enough as a starting point in a managerial career?
