Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

FYLDE KEEP UNBEATEN RUN GOING

54849

Danny Rowe gave Fylde the lead away to Notts County but winger Zak Dearney equalised 15 minutes later on 41 minutes after having his first shot denied by Griffiths, following up with the rebound and pouncing on it before any Fylde player. Each side had their fair worth of chances and it looked to be heading for a draw. Danny Rowe was brought down in the 75th minute and the referee had no option but to point to the spot. Ashley Hemmings felt confident and proceeded to take the ball towards the spot. Unfortunately, the penalty was saved and cleared by the first player to the ball. Fylde did not give up and eventually Max Haygarth scored a low driven shot from outside the box that flew past the the arm stretched keeper.

League leaders Leyton Orient were predicted to take all three points at Mill Farm but Fylde surprised pundits and were unlucky not to take all three points. Orient defended well throughout the game and kept Fylde out. The best chance of the game came for Orient when they had a free kick saved in style from Griffiths in the second half. Final score 0-0.

Joe Cardle got a rare start against FC Halifax operating in attacking midfield. Two minutes in he played a beautiful ball over the top for Rowe to chase who hit it on a half volley giving the keeper no chance. It was the only goal of the game and FC Halifax applied late pressure. A good defensive performance saw the game out and Fylde reamain unbeaten in 17.

A tough fixture against Sutton united ensued but neither side had the dominance of the game or really troubled the goalkeeper. A bore draw was played out and many pundits feel Fylde could have won the game if they were more attacking at home.

Away ties can be tricky and 3 days later it was a trip to Dagenham. A smash and grab win for Fylde as a free kick was drifted in for the head of Morgan Feeney who rose above the defence and knocked it into the net. With 30 minutes to play, Dagenham opted for a more attacking presence but Fylde defended well and hung on to their 1-0 lead. A good away win keeps Fylde on course for promotion.

Fylde are four points off leaders Leyton Orient but the who pack is one of the tightest we have seen in recent years. Will Orient buckle under the pressure and concede the title? Can Fylde hold their nerve? Can Northampton Town bounce straight back into the football league? This will go down to the wire.

If only we’d taken all three points against the ‘Os’ there. Blown the race right open. Fun fact about Leyton orient: the owners and everyone involved with the club are paedos. More non league fun facts next week

I'm shocked. Dirty Os.

So frustrating. So close after that horrible middle part of the season. Come on Coasters. 4 points in 7 games. Dare we dream?

@The Penalty Box Dancer might need a half time pick me up from you here mate judging by the side Marco has put out.

Your on Defcon 1 standby alert mate.
Big dunc wouldn’t start that team. Just imagine Danny rowe up top. Big Bond threading through the passes. Burke on the bench where he should stay for eternity the brick [Poor language removed] bottler

FYLDE ON THE SLIDE

It took Fylde 72 minutes to find the break through and James Hardy turned on the magic when he cut in from the right wing, shrugged off the ful back and launched it with his left foot into the top corner. A great goal but only lasted 60 seconds when Chesterfield capitalised on a side who broke their concentration and equalised. The game was largely in the hands of Fylde but they failed to convert any other chances. Chesterfield held firm and escaped with a point.

This is not the ideal time of the season to fall apart but Fylde did exactly that when they went to Billericay. Two first half goals was enough to put Billericay in the clear as Fylde offered little threat. Many misplaced passes and wayward shots from The Coasters and it got worse in the 71st minute when Danny Rowe missed a penalty with the keeper parrying it wide. It could have been a turning point in the game but it was an utterly disappointed performance. Ferguson disappeared down the tunnel before the final whistle and refused a post match interview.

Alex Kiwomya put Bromley in the lead with a rifling volley after getting on the end of a cross from the left wing. The defence stood round pointing the finger when Luke Burke was responsible for ball watching. James Hardy won the ball back with an excellent tackle and played it into the run of Danny Rowe, he knocked it past the central defender before taking it round the keeper who came out for the ball, nice finish into the net. Tyler Reid was done at the far post as Kiwomya crossed for Diamond who planted the ball firmly past Griffiths. Fylde won a free kick in the 89th minute and it was Danny Rowe who struck the cross bar. Danny Philliskirk was first to react and pounced on the rebound. Fylde earnt a draw but these are games they should be winning at this stage of the season.

It ain't looking good is it mate.

4 games left to scrape into the playoffs

"IT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE"

Dover were clearly the better side and the were the first to every loose ball in a very one-sided encounter. Fylde conceded goals from in-swinging free kicks, crosses into the box and a mistake from Morgan Feeney to allow Dover to grab a third as the whistle blew for the second half. Fylde could not get into the game and looked lethargic, weak and beaten. For a team in promotion contention, this was completely disjointed and effortless.

Duncan Ferguson changed his formation and played two centre forwards (Danny Rowe and Oliver Sarkic). Walker gave Salford the lead early on with an effort from outside the box that was not closed down by Ryan East. Danny Rowe was tripped in the box as he tried to get his shot away and after brief hesitation, the official awarded the penalty. Sarkic calmly put into into the bottom left corner with the keeper almost getting a hand to it. If only Fylde could get into half time. Salford whipped in a free kick and Feeney headed the ball towards his keeper who was wrong footed and the ball hit the back of the net. The heads dropped and didn't seem to pick up in thr second half. The best chance coming from Elli Simms who was played in one on one with the keeper and foolishly tried to lob him giving him an easy enough save as he stayed on his feet. A poor decision from the youngster. Parker put the game to bed in the 88th minute when he broke through the Fylde back line and put it neatly past Griffiths who had a day he would almost like to forget.

DF: I'm lost for words, at this point in the season. The lads are letting themselves down. It is completely unacceptable and there are no excuses for this type of performance. With two game to go, we have to win both to even have a minimal chance of a play-off spot. We had a team meeting two weeks ago and everyone said we need to perform better. Well, what happens when they cross that line is, it is over to them. Now, I know these lads well and they are more than capable of scrapping for the result. It's not going our way at present and it is disappointing. 55017

Fylde must secure all three points when they take on Dulwich Hamlet at Mill Farm.
