Foxtel loses EPL to Optus

It will be the quality of HD you get on the Fetch box that determines Optus' success here. The Fetch Box will give you the best quality available. I doubt many will move over to Optus EPL for streaming on their phones and tablets really.
Yeah, but you can Airplay them over to an Apple TV to watch on the big screen....I hope.

You can, but you lose a bit of quality. Seemingly the latest ones have fetch tv installed or something so that your apple tv works exactly the same as a fetch box
Apparently, reading the reviews in whirlpool, the fetch box is a little superior in quality to the Apple TV.

Got the fetch box yesterday and had it set up just in time to watch Man City vs Dortmund live. Picture quality is great, just like watching normal tv.

Well worth the $5 per month
It's definitely the best quality you will get to see EPL on with Optus apparently.
I'll be registering online for a month to month phone sim and Fetch mini today.

I'm trying the phone route for cost. If I have to go to the box, I'm still ahead of the game cost wise, after ditching foxtel.

No.1 son has advised me that using the phone's 4G which is way faster than my P. poor ADSL for the Prem is the way to go as it is unmetered for Prem. App. and won't blow my data cap...sling it via Chromecast to TV and we shall see what's what.

edit; for $5 I might stretch to the mini box as well

Tried on my phone today and it looks ok.

For the big tv definitely go the $5 for the fetch mini.

In the mini's settings people are choosing 1080i x 50fps as the best quality HD stream.

If you are pushing it to the tv, then the extra $5 per month for the fetch box is definitely the way to go. It really is just like watching normal tv

Likewise. Did you adjust the setting to 1080i 50fps?
That should give you a quality HD I have read.
