2021/22 Frank Lampard

There's two ways of looking at that depending on how you view lampard. Either he's being completely honest or he's passing the buck.

I couldnt care less about those comments tbh. Because they happen to be true
It's his career at the end of the day. If his bosses are making him look bad because they aren't handing him the tools to get the job done then it's his responsibility to demand them.

I expect the last two pathetic performances to strengthen his hand in that respect.

Any other manager would be getting pelters for Lampard's record. We have played one good game against Leeds with this team. That's it. Some embarrassing results and never a notion of responsibility taken from Lampard. My worry with him is he thinks he is hard done by all the time, but he walked into management based on a playing career. Where others struggled to move up the ranks in management, he thinks he is entitled to top 6 manager status without doing any of the work. Remember him giving it to Klopp on the sideline at Anfield with Chelsea? He's an annoying [Poor language removed] is Jurgen, but you can't say he didn't move up the ranks deservedly.

Ay?

Klopp walked into his Mainz job having played for them for 11-years. He managed them for 7-years before moving on.

4 of his opening seasons were in 2. Bundesliga and he has a relegation on his CV, also with Mainz.

You’re judging Lampard based his managerial career, which at this moment in time, spans 3 full seasons (162 league games).

I’m not saying he’s perfect, but if you’re using Klopp as a gauge, then Lampard’s prime season shouldn’t be until 23-24.

I like Lampard, but he’s still naive in his tactics, but he’s the only one who could save us last season amongst a pool of Pereira’s.

His "prime" would be about 4 years on then surely.

Lampard is smart guy who clearly has a footballing brain. He does have the capacity to adapt. Unfortunately, we're rubbish so it's a difficult role for him.

He's not as bad as Benitez.

He needs time. He is at present expected to polish Turd to a Diamond. Not going to happen. He has inherited a [Poor language removed] squad. He needs to be given time and needs backing. Our problem is 80% strategy 20%manger. We keep changing the 20%.
This will take time..............we are in for a rocky ride!

They might have, but there appears to be very little evidence that that is the case, and nothing he has said has suggested he's thinking that way. Seems more like projection as far as I can see.
Well if body language and tone is anything to go by I'm not so sure. Plus the actual fact they sold his best player despite him saying he needed to keep his best players plus the fact he's only been given a free transfer in return, let's wait and see shall we.

I mean, my argument there was that Klopp took 4 years to turn Mainz into a top flight team, still got relegated and got a big job.

I think Lampard reached too soon with the Chelsea job, but when he loves the team, he’s going to take it, someone like Ferguson in same scenario would do the same.

He’s still learning, I think he knows the best way to get production out the squad, so I’m agreeing with you mate. I’m clutching it all comes together, not his fault we’ve got an inept board.

That's where the problem lies.

I dont think you can underestimate the job he did keeping this lot together to stay up last season.

Lampard would get a job with another PL club in the bottom half no problem.

He has opportunity to prove himself better than that.

Disagree. He's not going to 'get off because he'd get another job easy'.

His stock is highest at Everton.

He couldn't get one before Everton (Norwich etc) - he was having planted PR video pieces with Gary Neville talking about his appetite to find the right job etc,

It was Everton fans that got him the job.

If it wasn't for the protests, it'll have been Vitor Pereira. *shudders.

Don’t be silly.

What he’s got here is a Rooney-esque situation at Derby.

He can’t lose. If we go down, he’s been given nothing, but can show he’s given the players fight, and brought a crowd together.

If we do well, then he’s effectively over performing given the resource he has available to him. Obviously he wants to achieve his goals, but he’ll get another job if he were to leave Everton, whereas if he was at Villa and spent a fortune like Gerrard has, he may not be as fortunate.

I like Lampard, but no way he walks, he’s sitting on a free pass here.
I'm not saying he will, I'm saying he should.

If he takes us down he won't be getting another job in the premier league any time soon, if at all.

Don't think that's silly at all.

He isn't a knuckle dragger like Ferguson though thankfully; Chelsea's always an exceptionally difficult job I think.

But we done that against Chelsea and Man Utd and won but you said we've only had one good game which was Leeds
Sorry I should clarify. When I say we played well against Leeds I mean we played good football. Kept the ball, passing, etc. I think there is an Everton default style of play that managers can use at home. Essentially Goodison tactics. Do I think that it's a style implemented by Lampard? No.
