I'm not saying he will, I'm saying he should.

If he takes us down he won't be getting another job in the premier league any time soon, if at all.

Don't think that's silly at all.

See that’s where I disagree.

He’s got a free ticket at Everton. People will have taken notice of him, and what he achieved last season, regardless of what happens this season.

If we go down, he can turn round and say, he’s had zero budget and sold the best player.

He can’t lose. I really want him to succeed, personally, but he’s got a free hit here, in my opinion (unless he absolutely bombs and loses like the opening 7-8 matches).

He can say that, but I don't think it'll be enough to inspire a team of any particular quality to take a chance on him.

Frank digging the players out after that shockingly lamentable thrashing.

I have a feeling that PL Season 2022/23 is going to be long and very hard.

I mean, even though our scenario is different to Derby’s, we’ve still managed to self inflict ourselves where we can’t bring anyone in, and became the basket case of the league… no one Across any of the top leagues in Europe find themselves in the same peril as we do.

Rooney went down, but they went down battling, if we do the same, I think sides would take a punt again if needed.

Personally I think we’re right in the mix, but if we go, we’ll go fighting, and Lampards hand has been forced upon him by the board, not vice versa, it’ll go in his favour.

Walking out on the eve of the season because the transfer window has turned out like everyone with any semblance of a brain knew it would would be unlikely to endear him to potential suitors either though. If he didn't know what he was walking to when he came here then he's an idiot. I don't believe he's an idiot.

I personally disagree. I think it would be damage limitation. I don't believe he didn't know what it would be like either. But I also believe that it's possible he's being/will be let down by our sham of a board.

If he doesn't sign anyone or just signs a few mediocre loans then this team will be nearly guaranteed for relegation. It's impossible to see how they improve on last season or even match it.

At least last season Gray had some moments and Townsend chipped in. This season players who had cameos of good games like Coleman, Allan, Doucoure are all a bit older and less likely to do the same. Where do the goals come from? We don't have anyone who can provide for DCL and he's nowhere near his best either. We have no Richarlison either.

The manager would be clever to leave before the season starts because for this shambles relegation is inevitable. I'm not sure I would even have them on a par with Bournemouth who seem the worst of the lot.

He tried early on, before realising he had to be pragmatic mate.

He still has to be pragmatic.

The squad has got worse, significantly since he was appointed with Richarlison leaving.

Going into a back 4 because fans are crying about 5 at the back is wrong.

Setup deep, low block - hope to nick a goal on the counter.

That's all we have with this team.

As much as I loathe Benitez - he was right to spend the pennies he had on two wingers/with a bit of pace for counter attack.

Until we have better players, we can't play expansive.
We need to go a more ‘back to basics’ start and then we can try to gradually play more expansive football through the season.

It just seemed basic issues last night, no positional sense, full backs exposed, wingers high up the field not getting back.

It was a 433 and you could tell we don’t play the system much, as they were all over the place. Lampard has said about it being the players and the style not the system, but we need consistency and a solid foundation.

Pickford
Tarkowski Mina Godfrey
Patterson Iwobi Davies Dele Mykolenko
DCL Gordon

Gordon more of a free role alongside DCL, he's played there for u23s and done well and I don't think him and Gray should both start as they always look for the shot and don't assist.

Would like to see a number 6 come in to be the playmaker, potentially Gilmour and the bodies around him making up for his lack of strength.

Disagree. He's not going to 'get off because he'd get another job easy'.

His stock is highest at Everton.

He couldn't get one before Everton (Norwich etc) - he was having planted PR video pieces with Gary Neville talking about his appetite to find the right job etc,

It was Everton fans that got him the job.

If it wasn't for the protests, it'll have been Vitor Pereira. *shudders.
Well he's got a job on here. If he gets this Everton squad anywhere near mid-table he'll be getting head hunted for a top half of the table club.

I dont think he's the bees knees or anything like it. He took an age to get it through his head that we had to have a siege mentality and only just manged to get it together in time last season. But he earned the right to prove himself this season for sure.

Not up to the task at hand. Turning water (or worse) into wine requires someone like a Bielsa at Leeds (and even he ran out of mojo at the end of his time there). Frank is a hyped up blagger, with none of those skills. He’ll be sacked by Christmas unless he finds a way to walk out beforehand to protect his fake reputation with his pundit mates. Either way we won’t have to put up with his blame deflecting inadequacy much longer. Only question is who is the next managerial atrocity they will inflict on us?

Not watched it yet not big on friendlies for above reasons (drama) However, I read set up play the high line, with both Keane and Tars...

If so that's got to stop in league or he'll be gone by October.

Can't bee seen to go backwards after that Palace game.
