2021/22 Frank Lampard

Lampard in his after match interview has hit the nail on the head and it is refreshing to see a manager not sugar coat what he has just seen, he knows exactly what the problems are and will work to put those problems right.

He knows a lot of players here are crap and will change them when given the chance, he is right we reverted back to hoof ball not long into the game, where as the 1st 15 mins we played some good football and had Southampton on the rack.
He said exactly the same thing as Benitez did 4 weeks ago. Except, then he gotblamed for being too agressive, not supporting his players or putting some blame on himself.

If frankie cant do that after just 4 games, well, championship here we come.

We conceded from this. It's inexcusable. Keanes pass, Gomes then gomes'd it

I've dreaded and hated this season ever since the useless kopite dinosaur was appointed as our manager.

It's been an absolute miserable slog, with a couple of moments of light, which have been provided by lampard turning up and trying to get us to actually play football the right way and have a go at teams from the start of matches.

If the worst happens it's not on him or the new backroom team - they've improved us massivley in 3 short weeks, and I want them here as long as they want to be here.

I really am looking forward to seeing this squad and team when it contains Frank's own players, as I think we could be really exciting to watch, and we will win more games than we don't.

He must be as frustrated as the rest of us that these frauds & cowards can't execute his tactical gameplan in away games.

He'd be better off playing onyango, branthwaite and some other u23s than Gomes and the like.

We need to keep Goodison a bear pit and stay supporting Frank - it's on us to at least give him that.

The defenders can't read the pressure. It's 5 v 5 and Gomes is getting hunted down by 2.

It should've gone back to the keeper straight away. We get into shape or it goes long from there.

We didn't, we panicked with Keane passing it into danger.

These things take time to sort out. However, we should be in a mode of trying to not lose games.

Was 0.0 for 50 mins. 1.0 until 84mins.

While we played poor, we were still in the game. Mentally the players didn't get that

I blame all of them. But most of all I blame MoshirI. But Lampard isn’t the solution. I’ve been very unimpressed by his managerial record thus far.
I spose Frank wouldn't be very impressed with your level of backing either, At the end of the day ..these pussys....players have let down far bigger managerial names than Frank Lampard, Even Ancelotti wasnt immune to the players having huge brain farts and forgetting what football boots are actually for.
Big job on his hands ol Frankie but I recon he and his team have as much of a chance to change it round than anyone else we are likely to get in these end of days times.

Benitez had from August to work with them and shape them, and also got rid of our two most creative players, while blaming everyone else but himself.

That’s the difference.

That still pic says a lot.

Where is Coleman ? VDB is covering him and left his central position.

JJK pointing to play it back to Pickford.

As it rolls on , a club footed pass from Keane and Gomes miscontrols.
From then we are in a world of trouble.

As it progress's JJK gets sucked into the middle ( the worst mistake ) this allows Armstrong ( top right) acres of space and a subsequent goal.

That is as bad a collective passage of play i've seen for a long time

It would harsh on schoolboys to call it schoolboy error's
Absolutely shocking tbh.

Yep and JJK gets sucked in because he is not a LB, however well he played v Leeds

I would play Kenny over Coleman at RB though personally, he has legs at least

This, a key thing in this move, I expect caught upfield somewhere. Whilst there were some individual errors the main issue here (you can see in the picture) is the poor shape of the back line, DVDB and Holgate both seem to be playing RB.

I normally agree with you @davek but I find these comments to be absurd.

Some blues are seriously going to turn on Frank after a few weeks?? That’s laughable.People know what an awful squad he inherited and what a precarious position Benitez left us in. Disharmony and sacking managers left, right and centre is what caused this issue in the first place.
You wait and see if we get nothing out of City and Spurs.

The panic button will be pushed by thousands.

I just don’t think any of our fans are so reactionary and so lacking in intelligence to demand a manager be sacked after a few weeks in charge.

People realise that we have the worst squad in the league and they realise that we’ve just lost arguably our two best players: James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne.

People realise that if Lampard keeps us up he will have done very well indeed.

Would any Blue seriously want a a complete novice like Rooney at the helm? If we’re struggling with a relatively proven manager in charge then we would sure as hell struggle with him at the helm!
This close to the end of the season and in this parlous position? Not only do I think they'll demand Lampard is sacked if we get nothing in the next two games I EXPECT it.

Apart from VDB I wouldnt play any of them in the pic.( injuries apart )

They are all individually prone to error's , put them all together on the pitch and its an accident waiting to happen.

Lampard will have learnt a lot yesterday.
