No getting around 5 defeats in your first 6 league games being terrible. The new manager bounce was an improvement in performances which didn't translate into points.

So they all go to a back 5 but then find that the midfielders get completely overrun. So we switch back to a 433 then lose because of a defensive error. And the cycle goes on and on and on and on.

But again using Coleman and Kenny next to him is just mind blowing.

How Patterson isnt getting a chance is madness...likewise Branthwaite not in the squad either but Keane on the bench.

Not turning on him because long term he's probably exactly what we need.

But for now it's not working for him, 5 all out losses minus the City game, we were well and truly beaten.

We now can't score or defend. He needs to play with a midifield 3 and be very conservative because we need to stop losing before we start trying to win

We are getting relegated the simple fact is the players aren’t good enough, and don’t want it enough to win games. We lack pace, we lack creativity and we have zero defenders and confidence. Not through lampard, through incompetent signings before him and lack of plan. We are terrible, really really bad.

Clement was Ancelotti's assistant when the Bayern players were setting up their own training sessions because Clements were so awful.

Defenders are awful. Just awful.
The midfield is bang average.
Up front options. Calvert lewin has cried off. Richarlison isnt an out and out striker. Nothing in reserve other than rondon and tosun.

Which is true but then should learn pretty quick and stop this idea these are good players. It's 5 full blown defeats, 4 of them we were smashed good an proper.

You stop the rot then start to play because eventually these players are going to downtools again saying "it doesn't work".

So running around like a knob in training garrentees a starting spot these days no wonder we are in trouble.
Is it any wonder Patterson isn't running about fighting for a place when he has Coleman and Kenny getting a game every week and getting the run around and still getting picked?

Hodgson is a brilliant manager, especially in smaller clubs, where he gets to use his football knowledge to get a lot out of little, and where defensive organization is critically important. We should fear Watford under Hodgson. As long as Hodgson is not demented, they have made a far better appointment than we have done, and have actually gone for experience and knowledge.
