2021/22 Frank Lampard

The press conference:

1/ FL states how crucial the CB situation is for us. I know he was formally signed in as manager on the last day of the window, but informally he had it for a day or so before and he really should have demanded a CB in January. The ones who came in in the last 48 hours were in areas we aren't desperate to address.

2/ That Alistair McGowan is a 'kin plank. I dont think I;ve ever heard a decent question from him....'do you think a psychologist would be of use for your away form?". Nobhead. And he shouldn't even be allowed to ask a question of Lampard given his Abramovic question to him three weeks ago. It's obvious Lampard cant 'kin stand him.

3/ It's obvious that FL sees Gordon as a massive talent. If we stay up it's going to be interesting seeing how a world class player like him manages this lad. IMO he's going to kick on and become a very very good PL player and a regular England international.
I reckon he probably tried to get a CB if he thought we needed one, but two days is hard to get anyone in. We’d just spent millions on two other defenders so the club might have been against it.

Gordon is improving but with England, once you get to the first team, Everton players are always be up against the players who the media love.
Imagine any other team supplying the numbers we did when the U23’s won the World Cup.

I read somewhere that we had a CB from PSG lined up but it fell through on the last day. Dunno how true

…I like him, I just don’t think he’s a top coach at this point in time.

i feel he has a Team model & strategy that doesn’t fit the players at his disposal & he’s not a mature enough coach to adapt. I thought his appointment was risky short-term but fine long-term. No turning back now, I hope he gets lucky because I don’t think he’ll be innovative and adaptable enough.

Good luck, fella, for all our sakes.

I’m fully behind him.

The only way confidence comes back though is maximum effort. Maximum effort means sooner or later results turn and so does the confidence.

Coleman, Doucoure, Keane and Holgate all play a huge part in that 2nd goal. They should be embarrassed because it's a continuous thing of players pulling out of tackles, or going in half arsed.

It's a lack of effort, it's a lack of professionalism.

Regardless what happens this season, every single one of these players has played their part in this failing and should be transfer listed.

Agree with all of that except the Coleman one. This lad has been a fantastic player for us over many years and a fine example. He doesn't pick himself and it isn't his fault previous managers have left us with a good enough replacement. Please get off the man's back

If we stay up, I think he will prove to be an inspired appointment, I'm just not sure he will keep us up. Either way, he is a much better bet than most of the managers Moshiri has hired. Ancelotti was the only good one, but, even he was totally unsuited to the job at Everton.

Just used used us a stop gap we all loved him but was never gonna stay we needed a manager to build something time he never really had age so forth and he knew it ,sad times

Well, he's taken a risk, if it pays off it's genius (or luck) if not it's not helpful.

By asking to see what they are made of before facing a West Ham team away, a team that shows what they are made of at home these days under Moyes, he's in danger of raising the stakes to the degree that (if) they get beat and it looks like they are made of little. This is especially so as the next game is another team that get stuck in at home, Burnley. These are the two most determined home teams (maybe not the best) that we play. It truly is a test of what those players are made of. Let us hope they are actually made of something.

He definitely doesn't have the players for his style, i think we can see straight away what type of team we will be once he gets his players in.
Away from home i believe he needs to do one of two things just to get us through this season:

If he persists with the tried and failed same players then his style and philosophy must change away from home. (We should park the bus and counter attack)
Or if he keeps his style and philosophy then he must change the personnel (Patterson Branthwaite Richarlison back out wide)

I still believe we still stay even with a couple of games to spare, I'm hoping its done before the last home game against Brentford.

Proper boring voice too. Always switch off my ears when I hear:

" And now we'll go to Alistair from the BBC"

I'm also convinced the Irish fella ramps up his accent.
