2021/22 Frank Lampard

When you’re fighting relegation you need a manager in the mould of Big Sam, someone who will hold onto a lead. But Moshiri sacked him for finishing 8th at the behest of us fans!

Having said that, Frank hasn’t made any really glaring errors.
Our heads go down when we’re playing away. That’s the bottom line. Carragher said last week that our players are psychologically weak and that they need to have the backing of the crowd to play well. That makes sense because we do play well at home under Frank and we’re dire away from home. We won our last home match and even when we’ve lost home matches under Frank we’ve given a good account of ourselves. When we lost to the champions last month we deserved a point and in fact we were robbed of a point.

I was reading earlier that between late September and late January we attained just 6 points. 6 points in four months! That’s when the damage was done, particularly in terms of the psychological deterioration of our players.

Let’s hope for a bear pit atmosphere on Saturday at Goodison against the Mancs. Win that and one or two others between now and the end of the season and we’ll likely stay up.
Frank can't coach a team to defend properly, he couldn't do so with Chelsea, how was he going to do so with our lot? this was a ridiculous appointment if i've ever seen one.

Not to put added pressure on the bunch of precious players we have - but they should be told that they are literaly playing for their jobs.
We will sell every last one of anyone connected to a squad that sees us relegated for the first time in nearly 70 years.
To paraphrase - they got us in this mess - it's up to them to get us out of it. Or else.
Clubs no longer hold the power. Players don't have to go anywhere if they don't want to and a number of these seem happy not to play.

Don't want it to happen but I believe possibly Lampard is gonna get sacked. I think Moshiri will look at results like Burnley tonight and think let's pull the trigger with games like Brentford, Palace, Leicester and Watford still to play and us only needing probably 3 wins to stay up, it seems likely to me.

Hopefully not as even if we do go down I'd like Lampard to remain in charge as he has a good backroom team and wants to play a certain style.
I like Frank as a long-term appointment. He’s got an excellent record with clubs that aren’t in trouble like we are and his ethos is right. But like you I think Moshiri will now panic into re-appointing Big Sam.

And I really can’t blame him. Relegation would end us as a club. Sheffield Wednesday or Nottingham Forrest? No, it’s be more like Bury.

Sam took us from just above the relegation places to an 8th place finish last time.

Lampard is the iceing on the cake and a further nail in our coffin

You can all show me the middle finger but the facts are there to be seen and whoever disagrees is either a racist as you did not want Vitor or Benitez or has poor judgement

Lampard has a poor track record, see what Tuchel did and look at Derby , he did not improve them. He plays as if we are Real Madrid or Man City.

If you have a stomach ulcer you do not presribe spices

Zidane is available - get him, and then Madrid will sack Carlo and we'll do a swap. :D

They are probably going to get Nuno I bet, but I hope we get Bielsa even though he should really do his interviews in English, because you just have to say the same things over and over again anyway. Do not get Raineri.

Interesting that James manager Laurent Blanc at Al Rayyan has been sacked in Feb 2022.

Frank has not really improved players. He also seems to have favourites (well just about every coach does), but you'd think a younger coach would be more open minded. He continues to play Kenny or Coleman for example.

The players don't know how to defend set pieces. We get killed down the wings and crosses every game.
No one can cross a ball so our open play has resorted to Iwobi trying to walk into the box playing one twos.
Gordon doesn't know how to create. The full backs don't create anything either.
To top it off - anytime the ball goes in our box, there's a feeling it will end up in the onion bag.

I don't think relegation would finish us. Even after a mass sell off we'd have a decent championship squad before even buying anyone. I know that's hard to imagine atm with how things are in the Prem but it's a different beast this league. Most our squad players would be top players in the championship. Look at the teams who win the championship they're mostly turd bar a few.

But the worst could still happen like it did to Forrest etc.

I'm with you I want Frank to stay even if we go down. That's not to say I don't think him and his team could have done better but they were also given the crap end of the stick and little time to sort it out. Throw injuries/ suspensions on top of that and it's a nightmare. Luck is a factor too. Let's face it we should be 3 points better off at least, City, West Ham and tonight should've been draws but errors/ bad ref decisions led to defeats.

I think Moshiri will seriously be considering pulling the trigger. It wouldn't surprise me to hear its happened before the United game or after. Its not what I want but I imagine he'll be crapping himself about his investment right now and looking for the solutions elsewhere that Lampard and his team said theyd bring. Can I see it being big Sam though? No. I think it'll be someone we don't expect or Periera lol

There's no excellent record that Frank has. You should stop listening to his mates in the media who go on about how he's made of the right stuff. How many Chelsea players have to come out and tell you guys the guy us tactically inept? If there was ever a time to panic is right now, as you say relegation with our time of wage bill would be catastrophic.

He’s no Kendal but he got Chelsea a top 4 finish and an FA Cup final spot after losing Hazard and going a year without being able to buy a single player.

He was also a couple of goals away from getting Derby into the Prem.

They finished just above Leicester and Spurs for crying out loud, what's more important is they were defensively horrible under his tenure. He then spent a fortune to get himself fired after under achieving. They hired a proper coach and won the CL with some fantastic defending with the same players that Lampard made look like some of the worst defenders ever. You can't survive the chop if you can't hold on to a lead against some of the worst attacking sides in the league.

I honestly can't understand the flack Frank is getting doesn't matter who coaches this lot nothing would change not Frank's fault Richarlison misses a sitter at 2-1 or his fault Kenny getting roasted by Taylor for the second goal not his fault Godfrey slashes the at the ball for the 3rd I could go on Frank not perfect and has made mistakes but he's not the reason why we are in this mess
