Pereira ruined his own chances of getting the job with that ludicrous interview live on sky. Even Moshiri isn't stupid enough to appoint someone who goes on sky talking about a live recruitment process
to be fair to him, it was more of a last throw of the dice for a job he had previously assumed was in the bag.

he was being messed about

Agree but it was very unprofessional and I would imagine the board probably saw it and started to have second thoughts, especially after that gimp had done his best Da Vinci impression. It was the perfect reason to not employ him.

If he thought he was the best candidate available, then he should have appointed him, yes. But he doesn't belong in a discussion about viable PL managerial candidates.
I wonder if he'd have organised this defence better and protected them more.

Dyche wants to survive. He will take a .00001 percent advantage in the race.

What had me scratching my head was why do you need to tell the players at half time that Everton don't really win. Would have thought it was evident in thier weeks preparations. Or if they watched MOTD. Almost sounds like a crap team HT team talk when you think about it.

He saw the sky mic and sent out the message. He wouldn't disrespect Everton like that if they were 10th and we were where we are.

He was saying this to the players as soon as the whistle blew in the Man City game. And probably thinking it to himself weeks before.

A draw or loss for them last night, and he says nothing to Sky.

He had that comment oven-ready in the event of a win, and particularly so coming from behind to win.

It makes him look good to the players and fans, and is just another shot in the arm for morale, on top of a massive win.

Well everybody is blaming the players.

Heres how the players performed last time against Burnley.

That performance was very similar to last night aswell. It's terrifying to think that 6 of the points we've managed to scrape together have come from a cumulative decent spell of about 11 minutes against Burnley and Southampton in games we were comfortably second best in overall.

Regrettably true I think - even when he hung Silva out to dry in failing to sign a Gueye + Zouma replacement, I backed Brands because I think the DoF model is the right way to go; but ultimately he wasn't able to stamp his authority on the club, and as much as Moshiri should get his portion of the blame for not handing over the reins, Brands should too for allowing himself to be so marginalised.

I think even now Nuno is probably the best option - Championship promotion on his CV don't forget...
I wouldn't argue with that conclusion. Highly unlikely he'd accept that now though having been rejected for us as a PL outfit.

I don't remember you backing that appointment at the time. It's easy to say it now.

There is absolutely no evidence that Pereira would do better. There is no evidence anyone would do better. Especially not someone daft enough to do that interview. I was mortified.
I wanted Pereira over Lampard. I was supportibe of Lampard though and I still dont feel he's a bad manager. Just not the right timing here for him.

If it meant staying up I'm sure most of us would accept it and give him time this time around.

I've convinced myself now that Moshiri will sack Lampard. Rumour is he's flying into England now. If its not before United then after but I think it'll be before and maybe Dunc takes the United and Chelsea games at home.

Lampards replacement be it Sam or someone else only needs to win these games below. Pick up a few draws and points elsewhere then great these 3 matter most and they're winnable. That'll be Moshiri and the DoFs thought process too imo.

I hate to say it, there‘s every chance, that we’ll be relegated by then.
