2021/22 Frank Lampard

Why shouldn’t he? Had every right to apply for the job and be considered based on Derby and his full season with Chelsea, it was his predecessor who should never have been a candidate
Even if you apply for a job, you will not immediately become a serious candidate. It is Lampard's right to apply, but it's the owners' job to make rational decisions.

We've shipped 9 goals in 3 games against Burnley, Crystal Palace and West Ham.

He's been dealt a tough hand but he couldn't organise a Defence at Chelsea either.

The English Brown Shoes.
Turned on carlo. Never gave Benitez a chance. Every pot won under the sun between the two 2 or 3 times over.

But we must let Frank rebuild in the championship when he takes us down.

As things turned out, it became virtually impossible for Benitez to continue. So I understand the decision, but I think it's wrong to replace him with a freshman like Lampard, who has not really shown anything but living on his name. That said, I think we would have been better off if we had kept Benitez, but that's hypothetical. Benitez, although not liked, is a far more reputable manager than Lampard, and has had a brilliant career.

I'd have been willing to converse with you if you were arguing whether Lampard was right.

Since you wrote the bold, you can go onto my big pile of "wham posters".

He's been 'backed' by Rio & Joe Cole to keep us up, although the cynic in me thinks that they're just being nice to their mate really.

A typical example of emotions taking over for rational thinking. Your hatred for Benitez makes you consider him a worse manager than Lampard. The purpose of Benitez was to change the structure and culture of the club, to professionalize, and it will always take time. You say yourself that this is a hopeless bunch of players. However, the performance was too poor, and the fact that he eventually had to leave the club was not surprising. Lampard's purpose is to steer the club away from relegation, which is far less demanding, and you usually get a short-term effect. Just look at Jesse Marsch, and the unity he has managed to create in Leeds in a short time. A manager who knows some basic psychology would manage this fairly easily. We're [Poor language removed], but not Norwich.

No, the fact he had a 32% win rate and took us on a run of 3 wins in 17 is the reason I don't think he should have been given more time - has nothing to do with my feelings towards him. Lampard has a 33% win rate and you're advocating he goes so what's the difference? Isn't that your managerial bias shining through?

Are you as boring in real life as your posts??

And what makes you think he can do that!. Why do our fans think Lampard is capable of that?. We have no clue what Lampard is capable off because he’s never had to do anything anywhere else. Going down will cripple us.
It won’t, it might actually slap some sense into the owners to be more sensible spenders and would be the opportunity to bin off a large number of players who quite frankly shouldn’t wear the shirt again

Fans really want us to get relegated and build from the championship, really? They may not have noticed we are losing money, lots of it and the championship will punish us for that. If we dont have relegation clauses then we have to pay our players premiership wages or shift for massive loss.

Any sponsorships reduce by about 90%, ticket receipts drop massively too. We aren’t in any way prepared for any of this and it will ruin us. What you’re effectively saying is you want the end of the club. i dont.

Yes it would. We simple cannot afford to go down. Our wage bill is massive, and we’re running at a loss of a 100m a season, whilst in the middle of a new stadium.

Nobody wants it, well except for @ForeverBlue92 who is looking forward to a day at Wembley.

Its accepting the harsh reality and hoping for the best

No they don't - I've only seen 1 poster say they'd be ok with going down.

It's just not everyone wants to sack the manager if we do go down, because we see these disgraceful players as the reason why we are going down.

He should have been given more time as long as the alternative was Lampard, but Benitez is history now. The point is that Lampard does not perform better than Benitez, but worse. Benitez PPG was 1.14, while Lampard has PPG 0.67. It is worrying when new managers usually have a positive short-term effect
