He should have been given more time as long as the alternative was Lampard, but Benitez is history now. The point is that Lampard does not perform better than Benitez, but worse. Benitez PPG was 1.14, while Lampard has PPG 0.67. It is worrying when new managers usually have a positive short-term effect
Can you post his record from September to his sacking please mate

I did not say he deserved more time. I said there were two different contexts, and that he is a better alternative than Lampard.
Hi mate, here is his record from the 6th game seeing as you weren’t brave enough to post it (p.s. I’ve removed the cup games)

A typical example of emotions taking over for rational thinking. Your hatred for Benitez makes you consider him a worse manager than Lampard. The purpose of Benitez was to change the structure and culture of the club, to professionalize, and it will always take time. You say yourself that this is a hopeless bunch of players. However, the performance was too poor, and the fact that he eventually had to leave the club was not surprising. Lampard's purpose is to steer the club away from relegation, which is far less demanding, and you usually get a short-term effect. Just look at Jesse Marsch, and the unity he has managed to create in Leeds in a short time. A manager who knows some basic psychology would manage this fairly easily. We're [Poor language removed], but not Norwich.
Actually the ‘purpose’ of a manager is to win more games than he loses and in that context Benitez was failing royally, regardless of how Lampard is currently faring.

They become incompatible though don't they? Digne being sold, el ghazi being brought in and taking a loan slot, the opposition and stuff like that make them incomparable.
Yes, I agree. It's hard to compare, but that's what we do all the time. The context is important. This is not an argument for Benitez, but the point is that Lampard is performing miserably, and we are on the verge of relegation. Then the question becomes, should the club do something, or should we hope that a fairly unqualified manager manages to guide us through this. Many here are quite optimistic about Lampard, and how we as a club will handle relegation. I'm not as positive. Moshiri is still the owner, we have a relatively red economy, and many of the same players will still be in the club.

Okay, but you should be more concerned about Lampard than Benitez at the moment. He is also not very good at winning football matches, and he is in control of the team.
