2021/22 Frank Lampard

Given the Daily Mail guff piece about fans wanting him out and the SkySports piece today, someone is preparing the ground work for him to go using the media. Either that or it’s the so called journos looking for easy click bait.

“Well the fans wanted him out”

“Who do the fans actually want because they are never happy”

Etc etc. See through it people. There are some proper snide folk in and around this club.

What he urgently must do is calm our players down and reassure them. They are nervous& panic stricken. They wilted under the pressure. Their first instinct was just to get rid of the ball without any awareness of the options around them. They lashed out at things that weren't necessary. They jumped into tackles to show how much they cared rather than simply blocking the ball and not picking up a yellow. We played that game at a crazy pace with players trying to empty the tank which was totally mindless in the circumstances. When you see how much they put into that game physically and mentally - it was no surprise they looked broken at the end. You could see how tense they all were.

All this talk of 'lacking ballacks' and not giving enough is leading players to go safety first and not think. They are in self preservation mode, trying to not mess up and be blamed for it so fragile is their confidence. They think they can show how much they care with big tackles and are not playing as a team. It was a performance that said to me, we don't know how to handle this situation. A showing like that against Man Utd or Liverpool and it will be a cricket score.

The biggest problem with Frank is that he’s not made any obvious impact, so now what?

His words don’t work, and too often it’s excuses and/or separating “us” where he is included in talk of solutions from “them” when he places the blame subtly on the players as a separate group.

I said after his word after Palace that he gave himself nowhere to go now of things didn’t pick up, and while the performance was better in the West Ham game, the result wasn’t, and we’re now back to square one after Burnley.

He’s got nowhere to go with his words in public and his words in private obviously don’t cut it, so we’re reliant now either on his tactics - which don’t seem to cut it - or individually reliance on the much of rubbish players that have been part of the problem all along,

I don’t think sacking him now helps, and I still think we’ll maybe scrape enough to stay up, but if we do go down, or we stay up but we’re no better 6 weeks into next season, I’d bin him off straight away.

Hahahhaha

Sticking the knife in on the great Carlo Ancelotti for missing out on the last game for Europe with these chumps.

Hes gone on to win la liga by Christmas and has champions league well in his sites.

The highest of high calliber manager. A miracle he was here in the first place.

And your here defending Franky Lamps here on the back a glorious 6th in the championship and a massive fail at Chelsea. About to take us down.

This wasn't anything against CA tbh i always liked him just stating an opinion on last season.

My point is we were awful at home, the worst home record for 30 years? My point was against the players and he had a better squad.

I'm defending Lampard because CA had a much stronger side and a full pre season / transfer window but that isn't anything against Ancelotti.

Dunc would have to name himself in the starting line-up to give us a fighting chance. Perhaps teach DCL about how to do that whole striker thingeemagig he gets 5 figures a week in his pocket for?!
A lot have said Dunc should learn his trade in the lower leagues, we’ll be bet know one thought it could well be with us. If we go down I’d hive him the job, things would have got so bad anyway so not a lot to lose. Imo he should have had it instead I’d Frank anyway.

We have to sack him. Given the very existence of the club will be at stake should we drop, we have to. Roll the dice. It's a little harsh on Frank but it's too important. I know it's horrible and I can't believe I'm saying it...but give big sam a couple of million bonus for staying up. I'd be a lot more confident of even scraping 30+ points with him in charge.

What an awful situation this lot have put us in.
I agree isn’t ideal but needs must
