2021/22 Frank Lampard

Bit of a mad assertion that there’s nobody who could get more points than Lampard has.

Burnley have just gone on a run with a manager who has zero experience. Whatever he’s doing is working.
He has players who want to work hard. Players who don't make school boy errors in defence every week. Players who recognised their situation and were willing to fight to fix it. Our players instead talked about being too good and future England call ups.

This squad is a disgrace to the club and the fan base. They should be embarrassed by their performance this season.

It's not that. I just believe our players are terrible. Most of the "good" ones are vastly overrated and the bad ones are bad

Yes. Yes, I do. We appointed a novice with NO track record to talk of. He has NO managerial CV other than having been appointed above his level due to name recognition as a player. We are now seeing the result of such folly.
What like glittered CV Mike Jackson?

In any appointment, you will almost always appoint the man with the proven track record. Burnley had a similar dilemma to us: stick with their manager or be brave and sack. We stuck with Lampard, they sacked Dyche. We go down. They stay up.

One of them did.

This squad should not be 18th. I refuse to accept that they could not keep themselves in the premier league under the appropriate management.

There have been multiple games this season where we’ve dropped points largely due to naive tactics or personnel decisions. At 2-1 up against Burnley with 35 minutes to go there’s no way we should have then shipped two goals. We carried on going for it and paid the price.

These small margins are where managerial decisions can make a huge impact.

We could have appointed Pep mate. Too much wrong with the squad.

Really hard to judge as the players have downed tools but he's got almost nothing out of them. At best he's done a 5 out of 10 job. Any manager who takes Everton down when they took over us outside of the relegation zone deserves to lose their job.

There was a pathway to safety for sure and I guess there still is. The idea that this relegation was inevitable is completely wrong.

In what bloody way lad? He has shown zero improvement. The only improvement has been his mates in the media saying how crap our owners are.

look at Burnley, instant improvement and 4 on the bounce. Disaster appointment. We where outside of the relegation zone when he took over ffs
The problems lie far deeper than the manager, we’ve actually looked like competing under him with the exception of Spurs away, a combination of individual mistakes and decisions going against us haven’t helped either

The damage was done with that diabolical run under benitez of 1 win in 14. You cant turn that ship around quickly.

The common denominator is these players. Everytime we look to have improved with a good result, we follow it up with something unimaginably bad the next game. They can get two results in a row. They had a chance after the United gane to lay down a marker and stretch it to 6 points. But the first half against Leicester they played like they couldn't be arsed!!

He wont be manager here next season when/if we go down.

I honestly think the club will turn to Rooney. It's just what they'd do.

Whether Rooney has his eye on a PL club I dont know.

You cannot pretend tactical decisions haven’t hurt us.

Burnley we should have gotten minimum a point. Spurs we never should have been so open hence destroying our goal difference.

Those 2 goals were nothing tactical at all. Thats just wrong to say that. The second one we had 3 players beaten inside about 2 seconds. The third goal was a horrific individual error by Godfrey.

I dont agree on blaming Lampard and I will disagree strongly with anyone trying to excuse these players and let them pass the buck.
