Liked how he quickly said the result was just the start to the 6 games that were left. Very easy to get carried away with yest as we're still up to our neck in the sh!t. In fact im a bit uneasy with some of the feelings among certain media outlets how leeds are going now and Everton aren't. Posted other day we had 6 cup finals. Thats only 1 out the way. If we roll over now at leicester and watford yesterday just proves these players only respond to certain game types. Im scared the level of intensity will drop simply because there is history with a lot of these players high fiving it after one performance.
Thats why i liked lampards comments. Very quickly pointed that out. Lets hope these players are not dining out on yest.
In fairness we had a real go at the rs, if we were to play that way at any of our remaining games we will get some points from them, I am certain!

We showed fight there in a derby game. We've had two big games against sides we were not expected to get anything from. I am a little wary that the expectation against leicester and watford is different as we tend to not raise our intensity as much.
Praying the penny has dropped. It HAS to.

Tbh 7 points out of United Leicester Liverpool Chelsea is pretty good considering we’re in the bottom 3. The Burnley results and the odd horrendous showing like the Palace cup game and Kenny’s clown show v Burnley have soured what is actually quite a good turnaround from Lampard.

We should have beaten Burnley, the loss to West Ham was just annoying that a bloke curls a direct free kick in, Liverpool we were shafted by the ref. We were actually ok in all three away games. We had a bad 20 mins v Leicester but then have been pretty consistent against them, United and Chelsea recently. Even the Newcastle performance wasn’t that bad considering they were flying at the time.

There’s a more settled feel about the side with Mykolenko and Coleman stopping the ridiculous fullback situation of two different players every week turning out. Holgate plus one seems to be doing alright in the middle. Then it’s a midfield three anchored by Delph with Iwobi and one of Allan/Doucoure adding some energy. Front three is picking itself recently.

It’s a world away from the back fives he was playing at the beginning with Gomes and Allan lost in a midfield two, Kenny or Godfrey at left wingback etc.

Got to give credit to Frank for improving us as we’ve gone on. The benefit of staying clam and not panicking and firing him as some wanted.

That's partially true.

I mean we are told he was planning all the time he was in discussions. He was also finalising things for about 2 weeks. But either way he has 6 or 7 weeks to prepare. That is a long way from what Lampard was faced with. That's the key point really.

I also agree, the clubs dithering over such things is really unprofessional.
My point is that the club frustrated any real planning by failing to sell players. We were in shock and disarray when Ancelotti left. It was compounded by a very problematic transfer situation and FFP crunch.

The start to the season was better than expected. In that sense the planning worked. It all started crumbling when injury after injury mounted up.

Godfrey, Mina, DCL, Gray, Gbamin, Delph, Townsend, Doucoure and Davis have all missed a significant part of the season through injury. There are probably others too, but I forget - there have been so many.

That is has really put us in this position.

For long periods in the first half of the season we were having the discussion of ‘drop Rondon and play Simms and Dobbin’. Whichever side of the debate people fell on that it’s just not conducive to a premier league level front line.

Sure Richarlison turned out at times but his availability was so patchy in the first half of the season. It would be like saying Lampard has had DCL fit during his time. The numbers might say so but everyone knows he hasn’t. It was the same for Richy at the start of the season, we effectively had the entire middle part of the season without a proper striker.

Equally in defence neither manager has had Mina fit for any decent period and Lampard has barely had Godfrey at all. In midfield we’ve had Doucoure Gomes VdB Delph Davies (not that I rate him) all out with injury for long periods. Allan has been the only constant for any manager this season.

It’s just not good enough for a team to win premier league games. Add in some of the worst refereeing I’ve ever seen against us and I can’t believe we’ve still actually got a chance of staying up.

There's an argument, however unpalatable that he should stay more if we go down than stay up.

He knows the championship, has shown he has the hunger for the fight and is able to work with younger players. He is probably as well qualified as anyone. If we stay up, and an Ancelotti became available, there's perhaps a case for going another direction.
Not for me, we've been down that road and paid out for the superstar manager. Understandable at the time but in reality we should have been looking for a project manager like Arteta or Potter. Now we stay the course with this project and the team in place or we just end up sinking further

Stick with Lampard for me, whatever happens. We can’t keep chopping and changing. We need stability.

Shows a real tactical understanding in the post match press conference on the differences between playing Liverpool Chelsea Leicester and what’s required. He got it wrong against Spurs but there’s not been that many times he’s had it tactically wrong, a lot of times the tactics have been right and we’ve been in games even against better sides but then individual errors have seen the game go.

Clearly learning as he goes on and as my post above, his celebration when Richy scores shows who he cares about

The cardinals still making excuses for the fat Spanish blimp who did his upmost to destroy our club…..zzzzzzzzz.

You were wrong, we were right, all is forgiven, get behind frank and move on ffs.

5 more finals to go - UTFT!
