2022/23 Frank Lampard

I don't know why we're bothering still debating this. We lost to a 20th place team in the final minutes after a 6 week break. It's done for Lampard.

I really hope so. I hope the board realise that we are going to get pummelled by City, so they are delaying the inevitable until afterwards.

3 wins in his 16 PL games THIS SEASON!
1 win in the last 8!
6 losses in the last 8!
4 points from the last 28 available!
2 weeks off completely, 6 weeks away from competitive football and that performance against Wolves is what was served up!
Lose percentage on a par with Benitez and worse than Mike Walker, defeat at City would see Lampard out on his own as THE worst in our PL history!
Goals per game is THE lowest in our PL history!
Win percentage joint second with Benitez just behind Walker, a defeat at City would also see him clear in second worse than Benitez!
Points per game is level with Benitez, defeat at City would see him clear Benitez in this as well!

AND this is the guy the board decide to back and give time, F me they are beyond negligent.... 4 or 5 games of carrying on like this will see Frank as the worst ever in our PL history, out on his own in every respect.

FWIW 3 front players, of the type we can afford, doesn`t sort this mess out.

The team needs a new direction and a new manager, he hasn`t and can not get the required results that will keep us up.

Keep Frank we will go down!

As likeable as Frank and his coaching team are… it’s very difficult to defend him anymore. It’s made worse when he makes some pretty poor tactical decisions, constantly making like for like substitutions & letting poor play simmer for too long until we make a late change

We've been in the cycle since Rafael and Frank. Both poor managers.
We’ve been in it since Roberto. It has just gotten steadily worse as the good players have left. As someone else said it started when we replaced Distin with Alcaraz etc.

No other club has consistently recruited so badly over so long and gotten away with it. Losing Richarlison will probably be the final nail in the coffin that sends us down.

It's not on Lampard. Ground atmosphere was awful yesterday especially after 1 all. Some of the players don't deserve to wear the shirt and unfortunately a couple of usually fairly reliable players let us down.

Tarkowski... I rate him and like him but him and Coady. Starting Mina was a mistake. Goal yeah ok but he's a muppet.

Somethings gotta give, I just don't think it's the manager yet. Write the City game off (just please don't concede a record score) and we will see against Brighton. Weirdly I can see us getting a win at old Trafford in the cup (just to make things even weirder) and I think that could be either our springboard or the nail in the coffin.

Oh and Maupay is not the answer to anything other than who is better, Maupay or Rondon.

You circle the drain long enough, eventually you go down it.

Six weeks break from football, just to work with the majority of the players, and it didn't look any different than Bournemouth or many of the games before that. That's the really baffling bit. We've been embarrassed twice in the space of a few days against Bournemouth, and the team somehow manages to play even worse after six weeks prep. The numbers are awful, and the eye test is no better.

I just want someone to come in and have us toss the ball into the mixer give us some goalmouth action.

Yup, every argument is 'get a 15 goal a season striker and we will be fine' then we will buy a striker, he will be crap, and we will say 'WHAT IS FRANK SUPPOSED TO DO'
If we buy half of PSG and half of Real Madrid, he will be able to do just fine. But who wouldn't?

Everton's squad is more than good enough for a comfortable mid-table position - or close to it. In any case, Lampard is grossly underperforming.

I think every manager in the world could wish for better players, but this is not FM or FIFA. The manager must deal with the realities, and use his expertise to get the team to reach its potential, or better.

Then you have to act sensibly with the funds you have (DELE ALI???), something that several clubs have become very aware of. Brentford, Brighton, etc., have their own models that make them perform above their natural level.

Incidentally, Brighton managed to attract De Zerbi, then a club like Everton should be able to do it too. It's really just a question of competence, and that's what is lacking at Everton. Those who make decisions at the club obviously do not have competence, which has resulted in us employing a manager who also lacks this.

Coady wasn't available to play against his parent club, so someone had to start alongside JT. The one who got the pick scored our goal and wasn't really any better or worse than anyone else. Yesterday's tactical setup was 100% on Lampard, the performance was on the players, and the result on both of them. The atmosphere or the crowd were not to blame for losing that game IMO.

I know he wasn't in any way backed, but he spent £75m-odd in the summer.
£33m Onana
£15m Maupay
£20m McNeil
£5-10m Gueye

That's not at all defending the board as they've been horrific and are mostly the reason why we'll get relegated, but Lampard alongside Thelwell spent all of the money absolutely horribly.

Couldn't have got it worse if they tried.
Gana was £2m.
