I moan all the time before McNeil was signed. I hate winger with no pace and his records at Burnley was horrendous. 0 goals and 1 assist and he did not even start for Burnley and some idiot at the club bought him and gave him Richy’s shirt.

Maupay - I tried to convince myself he was ok with about 8 goals per season. Has proven I am wrong. If we are going to blow money on players. Buy the good one who are starters for their national teams. Not some no-mark with zero cap in their mid 20s it means they aren’t very good.
I was expecting about 10 goals between them this season and even that looks too much!

They knew DCL’s injury record but signed a backup striker who is completely different to him. Crazy.

Less said about McNeil the better, not even sure what he’s suppose to be good at!

3 things

1) he isn’t deliberately trying to relegate us
2) Poch will never come here without a transfer budget
3) Moshiri will hire who he wants, not who we want meaning it would be Martinez/Moyes/another Ex RS
He can now because FL was the fans’ choice and now he can say I told you so.

The lack of even half-decent attacking personnel is the problem.

Everything comes down to our abject performance in the final third, and that is entirely down to the players available.

All sorts of things have lead us to this place, but I’d rather stick with a manager who has got parts of the side sorted out, rather than binning all that and starting fresh in a January window that will be panicky enough as it is.

There are no good options, but I don’t peg this on Lampard.
Lampard signed off on Maupay and McNeill..

Mcneil was an awful signing. Just not what we needed at all. Interesting to see the discussions that led him to be an option.

I still think maupay could prove useful over the course of a season if we had another striker he could play alongside - even for last 30 mins of games.

I’m really not sure what about McNeil enticed us to sign him.

I do agree with that, but he shouldn’t be a starter for us. If we were only going to sign one striker in the summer, as we did, it should’ve been someone in the mould of DCL

There is a very long list of idiots going back years that can be easily blamed for the lack of quality and the general holes in yesterdays starting lineup.

But there is a very very very short list of people that can be blamed for that particular group of players putting in technical and tactical performances like that week after week, which are honestly well below their actual (albeit mediocre) capabilities.

But, as ever, there is no solution. I was in was full-on sack mode driving home last night. But now I’ve moved into what’s the point mode. Just going to shout louder next week. What else can be done.

Lampard signed off on Maupay and McNeill..
He’s not without blame, I’m sure - but as ever transfer accountability at Everton is a murky thing that none of us fully comprehend.

It doesn’t feel like a lot to ask for the club to tell us where responsibilities lie, but they won’t do it. As such - and I think this is by design - it’s hard to apportion blame accordingly.

I think Lampard has been let down by the poor transfer activity of the summer, but the lack of a number 10 or back up striker of quality has really cost us so far. None of our front 3 can play a pass through the eye of a needle or regularly create chances. Is the Kudus ship has sailed we need someone of that ilk to join up the midfield with the front line.

Lampard signed off on Maupay and McNeill..

Do we know that for a fact?
Im wary now(i always was) after ancelotti said he had no involvement in doucoure signing. It was full on DOF.
I mean surely you cant just have a DOF signing off his own back. What if he's clueless.

Im assuming - because like we know at Everton, nothing is certain or even spoken of - that Lampard and Thelwell actually work together.

It's a bold assumption I know!

I don't even care really about whether we stay up or not under him so much as that there is nothing to suggest he knows what he's doing or building anything and should be sacked on that basis.

Hell I was saying this at the end of last year when we were playing championship level hoofball and was assured we'd see progress when the pressure of imminent relegation and better players came in. We have better players now in midfield and defense, there isn't any real pressure and it's still crap. He just doesn't have the ability needed to manage at this level.

You do make me chuckle somewhat with you expert view.
Part of the reason this club is in such a mess is we buy players like your lover boy alex iwobi. And are even in talks about giving him a new contract on 100k a week.
Seeing as you're banging on about whats wrong with the club and all that.
