One thing that went under the radar from Lampard a bit was him saying a relegation battle this season was always going to be the case.

Nobody is ‘finding any excuse in the book to defend him because he’s a nice guy’ just like nobody has called him a ‘mastermind’ and nobody is ‘worshipping’ him.

Some people think he’s doing a decent job setting up the team with what he has to work with. Not one single person is happy with the results we’ve had or thinks 3 in 17 is good, but some of us think Frank isn’t the problem and that years of poor signings and mismanagement of finances is the problem and that the better the squad gets the better a job Frank will do.

I could be completely wrong so I’m not going to say you’re wrong for your opinion but ffs stop with the hyperbole. Nobody thinks he’s the messiah just like I’m sure you don’t think the worst manager to ever manage in the history of managing.

I think it doesn’t even need to be a brilliant manager, just a competent one who can spot problems and flex with them.

I honestly think Lampard falls into that fairly-sizeable bracket.

We’ll see either way, I think, because I don’t think Moshiri will be keen to pull the trigger unless he absolutely has to.

Some would say that’s a bit hypocritical…

Benitez had spent £1.7m in the summer window and had about 7-8 injuries to contend with and having to take over from King Carlo and 59 points.

Lampard has spent £80+ million this summer and has only had D.C.L and Godfrey as the real absentees and has basically been given a free pass by the fans and probably the board this season.

You're comparing apples and oranges there im afraid.
