I’d imagine a win or a draw against Brighton will keep him here. If we don’t beat Southampton I could see him being sent packing regardless.

Not beating them given the current table would be horrendous.

United is an irrelevance in my eyes, to that decision.

Tbf, we lost to Wolves at home , and they were bottom

We've conceded less goals than 14 ( yes 14 ) other teams so far this season.
We've even conceded 2 less than Liverpool.

If folks can't see where the problem lies then this sport ain't for you.

Stop slagging the manager and voice your concern to the people that are badly letting him (& the team ) down by not getting him the tools to do the job.

Pretty embarrassing this tbh.

we are second in most saves this season and clearances and third in most tackles

the reason we are so high on that list is because we are so crap defensively and concede many shots on our goal

we are also 18th in most shots this season

we are terrible at both ends of the pitch

I don't think we are that bad at the back, Tarko is one of the best performing defenders in the league

I didn’t like the sounds he made after City, didn’t leave me with hope the penny has dropped mate.
He said to Everton tv that he knows Brighton will have the ball.

I'm hoping that means same again from the City game and we keep the 5 at the back system and play as the away team.

That'll need the GP crowd to be onboard with that. The crowd have their responsibility here also. Brighton are a cut above Everton and need to be respected.

He was part of a team that brought in Maupay as cover for Dom, and tried to play exactly the same way to accommodate him. Similarly, he brought in McNeil and plays him as if he’s a direct replacement for Richarlison. He wants to build a team around Champo level Anthony Gordon.

Our keeper has the second (?) most saves this season and I’m pretty sure we’re right up there in terms of blocks and clearances, too.

We have no discernible playing style/identity and our players seem to regress the longer they play under this manager.

Lampard may not be THE problem but he is a problem. My feeling is that the City result will prove to be an anomaly and we’ll be Evertoning it up a storm against Brighton and Southampton again. By the time we finally get rid we’ll have lost most or all of a transfer window and probably 4-6 points.

As always, more than happy to be wrong as I often am, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

The manager prioritizes defense over attacking to the point of not playing on the front foot in basically any matches. He's contributing to the problem.

Also why can the manager not see where the problem lies and take steps to fix it? Why is it acceptable for him to simply shrug his shoulders and say "the players aren't good enough so I'll do nothing?"

So if we fail to beat brighton tomorrow that’s 1 win in 11 games which will equal Benitez record from 18th September to 1st December last season

Surely a defeat sees him gone
Not sure because eventually Benitez won 1 in 13 league games and 2 in the last 15. So Lampard has a few games to still save himself plus the upside to Lampard is that he hasn't alienated the squad and booted out some of the better players. Not an easy task to pick up from the Benitez internal blitz of the Club for sure.

That sounds better mate, then what I read, the penny dropped last season, it has to this season too.

Agreed if nothing else 5 gives the opposition something to think about and gives us variance, we have been far to telegraphed.
