Hope he's not being hung out to dry by the board, he may be doing rubbish but he doesn't deserve to be shat on. First manager in a while that has connected with the fans, i think only Ancelotti before that back to Martinez first season.
That's a huge part of our problem though, we are more worried about a manager "connecting with fans" than if they can actually do the job or not. Maybe if we start actually looking at people who can do the job as first priority.

Excellent post. I concur with all of your points.

We have been strongly linked with Graham Potter of late, along with Duncan and Martinez and Dyche. One thing I would point out is that Frank had a much better win percentage as Chelsea manager than Frank has.
Yes after last nights defeat, Potter is now considered out of his depth at Chelsea, does that mean he would be fine at Everton, I doubt it. The crowd would soon turn against him here too.
Martinez and Dyche would be no better than Frank, doesn't matter who the manager is if the striker is never fit, other players miss sitters and the defense give gaols away through individual errors. Give Frank a top striker and an attacking midfielder and we'll be fine.

I’m conflicted for once.

I like Frank, and I dislike managerial changes, stability is best.

However, is he the guy?

If we get a similar lack of effort and commitment to Tuesday then we can confirm he has lost the players for me.

It's not just about the result, although the result always matters of course. It's also about performance levels and Tuesday was totally unacceptable both tactically and in terms of basic effort and commitment.

Frank is a good guy but there is very little evidence he is the right person - he averages under a point a game which is relegation standards. There is also no example of an Everton manager in this dire situation turning things around. Personally, I think he's finished here, and tonight could confirm it.

Same, but his win rate is atrocious. I think we are down this season anyway, so I'd take him staying on and the whole board being sacked. If moshiri sold up, it would be a bonus.

This is exactly my stance.

I realllllyy want him to succeed and I know he's been let down with the terrible transfers, however I just keep looking back to the tel Bournemouth games and just think they are unforgivable, changing the formation against Brighton was so niave as well.

I like Lampard and I have been rooting for him to succeed from day one. Unfortunately, it has become more and more obvious that he has lost the plot, he is completely out off his depth here. My big problem is, will anybody else be able to keep this squad of players up? As much as I feel Lampard has to go now, I'm really convinced that until Kenwright and Moshiri are part of our past, nothing will really change.

The stats spoke it all. 0.97 ppg.

I like him too but we are on course to get 32 points if he stays on, unless he suddenly start winning games and change his stubbornness and indecisiveness when tactics ain’t working and to bring on subs to change the game at half time. He really shouldn’t change the formation and players almost every game. We should stick to a core and keep 5-4-1/5-3-2 because we should at least make ourselves hard to beat. His 4-3-3 is bloody awful to watch.

That's my position, too.

Actually, maybe I'm a half-step on from that: I'm stuck on the question "if not Frank, then who?" given where we are right now and what we need to do in the next couple of months.

Who is responsible to replace the Brazilian #9 with McNeil and Maupay? I wonder.

Same here.
He's also been let down massively by a board and DoF who sold one of the 2 key players involved in keeping us up last year and replaced him with Maupay and McNeil.
But he doesn't help himself either by persisting with formations/ tactics that involve hitting the ball in the air up to a 5'8" centre forward, or relying on DCL to stay fit.
He's not the main problem with the club, but it's difficult to see how he's the solution now.

We all know things aren’t working and we even already go down at half time but he never make changes via bringing players on to change game. He is not a proactive manager.
