I think he does too. He kept worse Burnley teams up for what, 7 years or something?

If we go down, he also has experience of promoting a team.

Do I like the idea of Dyche? No.

But let's be pragmatic and he's the pragmatic choice. He has experience of working with crap and avoiding the drop.
Pains me to agree?

like i’ve said burnley had more attacking options than we do now.

so i’m not sure

Of course we wouldn`t "slot for fun" as you put it but we`d score more than we do now and be better set up, game management better which brings results.

We had some Moyes teams without strikers if you remember and still did OK...

We had goalscoring midfielders and defenders who would contribute

Here's a real quick list of players who contributed for Moyes and who are miles better than anything we have

Defenders

Baines
Jagielka
Lescott
Stubbs & Distin chipped in with the odd goal

Midfielders

Arteta
Graveson
Osman
Carsley chipped in

Attacking players

Cahill
Fellaini

Strikers
Think Yakubu banged in 20 you know
Think Andy Johnson scored 15+ one season

The story of this season is not getting attackers in. Two who could have got 4 or 5 each by now (not too difficult) and we'd be where Villa are.

That's what's done for Frank.

The team are obvioulsy still 100% behind him.
We need something in between midfield and attack.

We can all slate Maupay but he has never been a 1 in however many games he has played for us striker. He is always good for a handful of goals in a season. But he wont get any the way we play as there is very little attacking happening.

I’m not even particularly worried about the soton game. I think we will win that.

I just don’t have faith anymore that Lampard has got enough about him to get us the points during the remainder of the season that we need.

Whilst it's not definite, it's very likely. We've won 1 in about 12 games.
I know, but the bottom half of the table is still so tight that it can all turn around in a matter of days.

He has a huge opportunity next weekend to get us a win and propel us out of the bottom three and likely up to about 13th/14th in the process. If he can't do that then yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he was marched out of the building.

Unfortunately we are at the point now of looking at the manager with one eye on the best person to keep us up and the other on how experienced they are at bringing us up at the first time of asking. It’s an awful situation to be in but I think that’s where we are

we don’t need a manager with a track record of coming back up

coz we aren’t

That’s the frustrating thing, they haven’t downed tools like with past firings, they’re just Jekyll and Hyde but with too much of the Jekyll

I am at the point of believing that Lampard is not hugely under performing with the quality of this squad. I believe we are, without investment, one of the 3 worst squads in the league.

He should do better and he must do better. But I have seen enough energy and effort from the players tonight to believe that THEY believe.

Also, Assuming he isn’t sacked tonight, we have 7 days until Southampton. How likely, knowing how poorly run we are, that we can sack Lampard (agreeing whatever settlement with him and his team) and identify and hire a replacement in time?
Caretaker Manager. Someone could take over till we find a new boss. He has to go. His record says that he loses games.

I think if you have two forwards with good movement then someone like Gordon can play in behind them to good effect.

Are you saying Moyes couldn`t do better than Lampard?
