Yeah, should have stuck with Benitez by that logic.
Club has to back a manager at some point and fans have to make them at some point.

For what it’s worth after watching the club somehow manage to con the best manager in the world into coming here and then royally messing him about I doubt it will ever happen. But it needs to.

He should be sacked by any metric. His record is appalling. Unfortunately, we are ran by the worst board in European top flight football so they will have zero plan in place to replace him. We are literally relying on there being 3 worst teams than us. Nothing we do ourselves will really shift us out of this mess. It’s a toss of the coin if we stay up. We have a crap board, a poor manager and a weak, terrible squad. Playing alright in a 3-1 defeat doesn’t change anything. Fingers crossed for the rest of the season…

I have never wanted Dyche anywhere near Everton but given our current predicament now i would definitely have more confidence in Dyche keeping us up than Lampard. I am 100% sure that Lampard will take us down. You have to look at the whole season and not just tonights decent performance in which we still got beat by the way. Meanwhile keep relentless pressure on the board and owner who have brought us to our knees and cannot be allowed to continue.

It needs to hire a proper manager, not a PR face with no record to speak of. When it does that, it has a chance, and then we can speak of loyalty.

I think on paper he looks like what we need.

Managing here at this level of club and Burnley are two different prospects though.

He's lost a ton of PL games in his career. 258 PL games as manager - 72 wins.
As u said mate, he was below us last season, cast your mind back to how bad we were, he couldn’t scramble points to go above 2-5 to Watford Everton. If he is so good why didn’t Villa, Brighton, Wolves get him?

Why didn't a number of clubs pick up Eddie Howe? Sometimes managers are judged harshly and sometimes the foreign darling looks better than a reliable guy who isn't very flashy. I certainly think we could do far far worse than Dyche.

Very different from last Tuesday. Dunno what that means though, if anything
He's a Kopite with Kopite instincts to see Everton down.

I'd love Lampard to turn this but I dont see it.

There's a danger here that the media support for Lampard results in important decisions not being taken quickly enough.

I dont fancy Dyche, but neither do I fancy Lampard to get the players he needs to get us out of this hole.

It pains me to say it but we need to see a clean break here and for this board not to wait around for the S'ton result...which even if we won it would paper over cracks for another week...and get Frank on his way and another manager in. Who that is I dont know. I'd like Nuno but I doubt we can get him.

He has only won 9/42 games. One of those was against a league 1 side. One of those was against a non league side

If and when he is eventually sacked, he can have no complaints. He is being given more time and held to far lower standards than any other manager during the Moshiri era. The statistics are horrendous and unacceptable at this club.

If he's still here next week, and I expect that he will be, then it is really must win and last chance territory for him. To give us a fighting chance of survival, we need the 3 points. I dont care how we get them, but we need to find a way, and it starts with us wanting it more than our opponent.

So is Dyche

What will happen if the board keep him in place for the Southampton game, we win, and then get convincingly beaten by West Ham? And then Arsenal the week after? It’s entirely plausible. We’d be further adrift from safety than we are now, and the transfer window would be long gone for any replacement manager to bring in players.

They seriously cannot be overseeing this clubs future game by game in the boardroom. It’s madness. Either back him now publicly, or be done with it and give us the best chance to recruit for whoever comes in.

I suspect, privately, they have already decided to stick with him. They know they are working with loans and cut price deals, we do not have much money. And in this market, no manager worth their salt would be interested in joining us.
