2022/23 Frank Lampard

We need lots. But we're not getting all we need in the next few weeks. The midfield can scrap and fight hopefully.

Everyone involved within this clubs recruitment should be concentrating 24/7 on getting some forwards in. It will be tough to get real quality but its a gamble we cant not take.

If they dont then i just give up.

His replacement came in and finished 4th with the same squad.

I genuinely just don’t understand the bending over for Lampard. He’s done NOTHING his managerial career whilst also being one of the worst managers statistically this football club has ever had.

they’re is no bending over. i bet if we had £200m we woudnt be in the bottom 3

i think we need to give up. they’ve had 6 months to address what we need and haven’t done a thing.

our time is up i think we all now know this

2 wins in 8 games (one of which was a cup win v Luton) after spending £200m is pretty rubbish tbh
It is. But again, can we not act like the manager spends £200m, especially at Chelsea. But regardless, it was a poor run by their standards. It actually wasn't including the Luton match. I was on about league.

And this is Potter's current record (all comps) across the last eight games.

If we put it to just league... basically, if it was the Abramovich era, Potter would probably already be gone.

It's not unreasonable to say, he has to win that game. I'd want him gone now, but it wont be an easy job for anyone else.

We have to stop trying to play 433 though mate. Its killing us.
We can worry abour formations when we get more personnel in. At the moment it has to be everyone behind the ball and stay in games to maybe carve a chance or two out. We'd have got a result against all but United, Arsenal, City and maybe Newcastle last night with that commitment.

That's it really.

If you're not going to sack him...find a way to back and provide him players ffs

Not this "difficult market" and the "right player". There's loads of solid cheap players you could have on short deals just to get them playing and helping.
Look at Brighton. Their team was built on a pittance.

Agree, there is also that list of players he supposedly wanted and the board just ignored it and went out and did their own thing.
I do think he had an input like. He wasn't just getting handed players. He really wanted Havertz, remember doing a few bits on that at the time and how the famous Frank call persuaded Havertz to join.

But Tuchel also couldn't get anything out of Werner, for example.

he did, I wanted Everton to go all for him in 2017 (that same season) rather than BFS, who was always short term. Dyche could have built something then.

But since then I think he's shown himself as more and more limited. I also don't think the squad suits him as much as people think it would.

But look, if he was the one they went with it'd show where we are, but it might mean we have a 10% better chance of staying up, so it'd be worth it. He'd still need signings.

He would definitely need signings, but I believe we would be much better organised under him and we would be nowhere relegation places

I'm normally with you on that, but the 532 seems to work, and I suppose allows us to get personnel in we need.

Godfrey, for all his faults needs to play. If ever there was a guy who can get the crowd up with his commitment its him.

We need to do what we did in the 90s, drop any niceties and fly into teams. Be horrible to play against etc and hope we can nick goals in games.

I honestly think, if we set up and perform as we did last 2 home games against Southampton, we will steamroller them. Given the league table, we will likely be 15th or whatever too, which at least gives a bit of breathing space.

It's a controversial view, but I actually think Potter is overrated.

Compare his record at Brighton to Dyche at Burnley, and it's not really any better.

He is a weird player him, there is something there and that pace is frightening but when he tried to put all together it just isn't happening for some reason.

That game last night has been costly.

Iwobi lost to injury in a game that meant nothing to our fight for survival.

And it's provided a dithering boardroom more scope for dither in not getting a new manager in.

We need leadership off the field now. The drift is killing us.
