Who's demanding top half ?

I just find the managers biggest supporters constantly downplaying his ability strange.

We've had far worse squads than this one - Alladyce had Cucu Martina and Jonjoe Kenny playing games but finished 8th yet the fans still legged him.

Lampard flashes his knickers and says a few edgy things in his pressers and you've fallen head over heels accepting 17th place ya mad man! lol

Martina played 21 games in 3 years. Stop going on like these players were regulars to prove a point that doesnt exist.

Lets not forget. You wanted Sean Dyche over Graham Potter.

And?

Alladyces best players were Gana and an over the hill Rooney yet finished 8th. Dont forget at that stage DCL was nowhere near the player he was either.

You tell me Lampard is super but we cant expect more than 17th?

Right.

I didn't really care that Rafael got appointed and was happy with it at the start, but I've also never really put emotions into individual football people as it's a waste of time, but I really disliked him by the end. He was a few weeks from destroying the club

Lampard changed the whole outlook, I doubt he'll ever be amazing but at least he might bring a direction

Right.

When? Didnt happen.

I have no idea if lampard is the answer. Personally im surprised anyone touches this job. I think the defence is starting to look better.
As for the rest. Its virtually the same crappy midfield and even less in attack.
Until he has at least had the chance to turn over the squad then its back to square one again.
7 months he's been in the job. I think its a 3 year thing minimum. And thats even with decent backing.
Still, Dyche is unemployed. I suppose we could always go for him if it comes to it. Get your knickers ready.

Few managers get 3 years at most clubs nowadays including ours.

He either inproves us or he goes and someone else has a go at it.

The circle of life as a top flight footie manager these days.

Doesnt matter. Its as clear as glass that Everton need to move away from how they have operated. I wanted Potter to do that. Thats not happening.
Only time will tell if this manager is putting things in place. 7 months is not going to show that.

I agree - I said yesterday Lampard gets the season for me (but its cool and lazy to state that @ForeverBlue92 dont support him because he dont buy into the hype) however come June he'll have been at the club 18 months and finishing 17th would suggest he's not the right man.

Every manager has to show incremental bits of progression especially ones with nothing on their CV to hold your hopes onto.

Feb 22 to may 23 is not 18 months.
Is very little hype either. I dont know where or what you are reading. In fact i'd say there is zero hype. Its more hope and optimism.

Either way come game 38 he'll have been in charge of roughly 1 and a half seasons and we need to see progression.

If we are no better off than last season then something is wrong man.

You were vaulting yourself the other day, now you’re tagging yourself into your own posts lol

17th will be incredibly disappointing if Lampard actually gets his targets in… and I say that as someone who backs him completely.

With the current squad though I wouldn’t hold it against him.
