No system can work without at least a half decent centre forward. The board are to blame 100% for letting the manager down

I dont trust the process at all. In fact I think our recruitment this summer has been as bad as ever. But the idea that changing the manager will fix things is pretty laughable.

Every manager that gets sacked is another time where the board get let off the hook.

I am not for one second absolving the board of any blame. I’ve been very vocal about the tyrant in charge and how he’s almost destroyed the DNA of the club.

We need to support a manager, my point is that is Lampard the right manager for us to hedge all our bets on? And if so, based on what??

We've completed in all 4 games so far, but predictably have lost by the odd goal. Our goal difference is -2. We are very competitive but equally very toothless.

We are just totally lacking in attacking quality and will continue to lose lots of tight games unless we find better players in the next 5 days.

We weren't prepared for the season but it was hardly due to the manager.
Three of the four games have been against Brentford, Villa and Forest. That is three teams who are likely to be fighting relegation.

If you could watch todays game against a team in their second season of top flight football boss us and think we’re sound then I don’t know mate.

Fair mate it’s an opinion game. All I’m
Saying is I’ve seen very very little in these four games to say we’ll be sound this season.
Its definitely a game of opinions but I think your expectations for a side using Rondon as a centre forward, or Gordon as a false 9, are a bit unrealistic. You cant expect to win matches at this level with those sort of options.

I dont think everything is sound at all. You've obviously not read my posts and my constant negativity. I think we are in big trouble, but the manager is the last person who should be blamed. He's not the person who built a squad which only has Rondon at centre forward

Lampard did have money at Chelsea.

He spent £220m on Havertz, Chillwell, Werner, Ziyech and Mendy.

Mendy has been the only success in that list. That is one of the big issues I have with him. Richarlison and Gordon were two of our best players last season. Can we trust Lampard to possibly sell both of them and bring in players that improve us. We have had some garbage signings over the years but Dele Alli has to be right up there with the worst of them.

He didnt in the 1st season you mentioned though mate, where he went from 4th to 4th. That was a good achievement with no money.

It went haywire 2nd season, and he completely fluffed his lines. They should have been title challengers IMO.

He wont bring players in, so I dont worry about that. I worry about his ability to deal with v high expectations, to manage elite players with huge egos, and tactically manage games, or manage wins most weeks. Fortunately, they are not the challenges he faces here.

I'm not a huge Lampard fan. He wouldnt have been my pick. However, I can give his his due, he did well last season. There is a tonne of context for the raw figures last year. And this season was always going to be tough until we got a striker in.

Three of the four games have been against Brentford, Villa and Forest. That is three teams who are likely to be fighting relegation.

Honestly mate, outside of Forest there are 5 or 6 teams worse than Brentford and Villa. Brentford are just coming off being 4-0 after 30 minutes against United. Vilas squad is really good, but their manager is woeful.

Got 1 more point than him if I remember correctly. Hardly an achievement.
He had an attacker last Yr, what is the excuse?
No your right, employ a competent one and stick with him. So when can get one

Yes he got a better return than him. With no pre season and a squad in its knees. So it was a good achievement.

Theres no excuse, theres a season. We had a manager that had 1 win in 14 games and on its knees. These are concrete reasons.

As for the managers, where are they? We have had 7 managers under Moshiri, and 6 of them have gone down as failures. So why do we think we will get a suitable manager if we sack Lampard?

Our goal difference was inferior to Burnley's so it was 4 points that kept us up. Over the last 38 games we have achieved 33 points.

Lampard took over Derby when they were in 6th place and maintained 6th place. He took over Chelsea when they were in 4th place and they finished 4th. We were in 15th place and six points off the drop zone when Lampard arrived and finished 16th 4 points above the drop zone.

At the end of this match week we could be in 19th place.

He has done very little to turn around our fortunes and we have some tricky fixtures coming up. The biggest worry for me is that the three teams currently below us are teams that you would expect to finish in the top half.

? we’ve played 4 games you melt.
