Wanting a manager to do well when he achieved his objective for the previous season, is not being in a cult.

The fact he has received not enough support this summer and has no forward options, makes me want him to do well even more. But it also means that expectations need to be realistic. You cannot compare this situation with other managers because the last few were not forced into selling their best player.
Best to ignore the trumpet, mate. The smell will only linger if its encouraged. ?

This is nonsense. The manager has appalling centre forward options.

How has the DOF done his job? Do you seriously think Rondon or Alli are good enough striking options for this level?

We'll have 1 if not 2 attacking players in by the windows end.

Martinez had Arouna Kone as his only option up top in his 1st season and drew the first 3 games taking 3 points oot of 9 - he then signs Lukaku on deadline day and we finish the season in 5th.

Like I said - all on the manager once that back up forward is signed.

Let's see what happens by 1 September. I'm not taking anything for granted because we've been here before in the transfer market. The only thing that is certain, is that nothing is certain.

The current options are absolutely not good enough for top flight football and we are playing meaningful games. We need to see movement before the Forest game so we have a chance of getting some points on the board.

Seems to be able to work his way through problems which is a good trait. He also seems to care a lot, I’ll take this over some of the stuff we got from previous managers who just seemed to be all about elevating themselves then blaming the club and players when it went wrong (which is undoubtedly true but managers have to take responsibility for what they can fix as well)

Definition of a cult is blaming the ex manager for all our woes then blaming the shoddy players for all of his replacements woes...
That's definitely not the definition of cult. And also isn't what happened, tactically Lampard was poor at times, however he adapted the style he wanted to play to ensure we got the results we needed.

But let's not rehash all that because despite it being explained several times, it always just seems to go over your head.

Yes, completely agree. The fella Frank replaced was the worst for this and in fact has been throughout his career.

If we don't sign a forward player and DCL remains crocked for the season Lampard gets a free pass in my eyes.

But if we do sign a forward or DCL comes back and remains fit for most of the season then there can be no excuses not to see us in the mix for top half with the additions we've made.

If clubs like Bournemouth, Fulham, Southampton etc are above us then you cant blame a cowardly defence or awful midfield any longer as Lampard has a near new starting 11 when you include Patterson and Mykolenko to the 5 new additions (soon to be 6 when Gana gets sorted).

Positive vibes only while us Evertonians get behind our team and manager please.
