Well Super Frank outlasted Slippy, Villa are to sack him this week, if this mornings press reports are to be believed. Good enough for him too. They are really beginning to look like us in the early days of the Moshiri era. Spend spend spend, sack, sack, sack. Apparently have Pochetino lined up next.

Lampard has been here less than 12 months. He’s still a fairly inexperienced manager. I have far more faith in the squad we had now than the one we had 12 months ago. In that run from October to March last season when we won about 3 games, we were spineless and just never looked like competing, particularly in away games.
Although we lost to Spurs, we at least competed and made them work, whereas last season we were humiliated. Lampard was probably overly cautious on the back of that 5-0 defeat. I would hope with experience he would be bolder in games like that, with the confidence we have a stronger defence and midfield.

I’m disappointed he’s failed at Villa. I wanted him to do just well enough to get the job for the shoite and THEN fail spectacularly. The emotional turmoil their fans would have experienced having to turn on their messiah would have been a joy to behold ?

The amount of times he talks about needing to be more clinical leads me to believe he doesn't have a clue. Sure it would be nice if every half chance went in but they probably aren't going to. It's far better to actually control games so you can out shoot and out chance teams. You might even be less clinical and still win! And then when you're more clinical it's hard to lose. Right now we can't win if we aren't and that's a bad place to be.

Or he’s just saying what we’re all thinking: the forwards aren’t up to standard.
