2022/23 Frank Lampard

Blazing two one v ones over the bar from 10 yards isn't what I would call clinical. Yes we absolutely need them to create more, but some of our shooting is terrible so far this season.
And this is exactly what I mean. Coming from people on a forum is whatever. Lampard actually thinking "shoot better and we're fine" would be a major red flag.

If only we signed one of these instead of Dwight McNeil.

I think Frank has been pretty good for many reasons but buying Dwight was a massive error. Getting Ali was even worse.

When people go on about managers knowing more than us I laugh. Carlo paid 20 million for a slow, old, non-goal scoring midfielder
with no resale value. Agent Rafael had to buy a number 9 quick to replace an injured DCL and he buys a bloke who needed 6 months to get fit
and even then was unable to run quickly. Fat Sam bought a well-known bottler from AFC and another slow bloke from an inferior league.

What did Frank see in Fright? He's slow, scores once a year, and has a wooden stump for a right-foot.

Moshiri has been really poorly served by so-called professionals and Frank is not free from criticism.

I'd rather the manager focus on things that he can control and that are likely to cause greater improvement. How well we shoot is neither of those things.

It's a lack of talent in attack. You can only improve so much in front of goal if the talent and natural ability is not there. The manager needed to be provided with more firepower in the summer.

To be fair if you look at what Lampard actually said I think it's pretty clear that he wasn't saying our only (or biggest) problem was not being clinical. He's basically saying that we came with the old KITAP1 game plan and if we'd been more clinical then maybe it would have worked. He does effectively say that ideally that wouldn't be the plan and there are lots of things we can improve on but for now in that type of game we're trying to be competitive and make the most of our opportunities when they come along.

You can obviously debate the merits of the approach etc but I don't think it's accurate to suggest the manager thinks our only issue is not being able to shoot.
