2022/23 Frank Lampard

I like Frank and think we need to give him more time, because we can’t keep changing, it’s a big part of the problem. But he can’t come out after the match and say our end product was terrible. He’s got 90 minutes to fix that and good managers fix it…when you bring a sub on they should know what to do when they get the ball. Can’t keep saying our play in the final third was crap…so what did you do about it!

You can give him all the time in the world and he still might not get there

Brighton haven’t had an instant improvement though? They’re yet to win since their new manager came in. Newcastle have one of the best midfielders in the league playing for them who runs their entire team. Both of those Palace players are comfortably better than Coleman and McNeil. So no actually.

Mad that they got Guimares for £40m, really smart signing. Night and day to our splurge on Sigurdsson when we got some money.

I dont see what else Lampard can do, personally.

Sure a different manager could get better performances, im not claiming hes getting the best from the side, im just not sure what his options are.

I see no room for improvement in the way we set up.

Last night for example was probably our best side, Patters aside.

But anyway, not making excuses, as I say, RESULTS and performances are lacking, for now only 1 of those things matter.
It takes a good manager to come in and turn things around to show you what the actual ceiling of this squad is. Last two appointments, Rafael and Lampard, have been bad.

For me, we’re in this situation mostly by going through managers like wildfire.

I think we have to be prepared to tolerate a “Moyes’ second season” at times and stick it out with Frank. He at least is enthusiastic which is more than can be said for some recent managers.

Would argue it's improved on an individual, technical quality perspective (and I hate to talk about the midfield's "potential"), but as a unit it does look like it's just not connected/connecting yet. A bit mismatch. No one seems 100% set in their job and role. The pieces are all there but it's just not quite clicking.

You used better words then me mate but my thinking exactly.

Im firmly in the camp of not wanting to sack another manager - as others have said it doesn't work, is depleting and ultimately undermining.

I am however concerned about the performance last night, i thought it was a poorly coached, poorly planned and poorly managed performance from the manager, I saw a lot of red flags.

Overall I'm backing the manager, but he needs to do better in terms of his own planning and performance.

I would like to give him time but you don’t get that in this league. The positive is he has improved our centre defence and defensive midfield to a point. The negative is I have not see much from franks time in how he is improving is going forward. A minimum of 8 points before the World Cup break or we will be in another relegation battle after Xmas.

There's a lot to be said for sticking by a manager for the wrong reasons though mate. It's clear we need stability but why does Lampard deserve more time than other managers?

To clarify i'm not saying he should be sacked yet, but if we don't pick up 6pts before the World Cup then there's little to suggest that he's the right man for the club long-term.

He wants to replace Lampard with some no mark from the Norwegian league. You can't take him seriously.
