We look devoid of any ideas going forward and have done for ages. He had made the defence tighter, but the arse has dropped out of that.

Doesn’t help having an erratic goalkeeper behind them (he’ll have a blinder of a World Cup by the way).

Our style of play with aimless sideways passing is what annoys me the most. We had like 65% possession today and Bournemouth were delighted to sit and wait for us to shoot ourselves in the foot

Everton play direct aggressive football. Take your possession football elsewhere. Its crap and so dull

I totally agree mate, it was a fault that I’ve levied criticism at Benitez for, Silva, Martinez - same formation with it not working.

He has no strikers, which is a major issue, and with those wingers being gash the only real thing he can do is either go 3 at the back, that changes to a 4 when we attack (like Carlo did) and push the wingbacks all the way forward. Or throw cannon (massive massive gamble) in alongside Maupay and go for a diamond
Or he could put together a proper system from back to front that can defend higher up and play with more control over territory which will lead to a greater amount of the game in areas we can score from. It's just a thought.

But he actually can't do that.

Whatever he is trying to do clearly isn't working and weirdly he didn't stick with what did work against palace. I want him to stay because I suspect if he went well would end up with Martinez or Dyche. But he needs to use this 6vweeks wisely and come up with a better plan.

Dyche would send us down. It's the same thing we're doing now. Defend deep, concede tons of low quality shots and pray you score somehow. The only thing he'd do better is properly lean into and time waste and s-house from minute one.

We'll definitely try something like that if it comes down to it though. Don't think we're capable of any other football tbh. Midfield is constantly overrun so adopting different tactics is out of the question.

The opposition pass our press, parts of the first half today we 4-1-4-1 and one pass took our front 5 out of the game and they were in the break and overloaded us

So we do actually press from the front, poorly with no intent

That'd be another shot we'd miss by about ten yards then?!?...
