2022/23 Frank Lampard

What?

You can work on pressing all week, if a player switches off its game over. The same as defending set pieces, and every other aspect of the game

Your statical websites don’t give you knowledge of the game mert
You're not wrong here. That is a true statement.

It isn't what is happening at Everton

Tactically, Lampard's got it badly wrong in the last three games. There's no real excuse for that.

There is, however, the obvious that this team has possibly the worst attack in the league. And that won't change with a new manager.

Demarai Gray, Anthony Gordon, Dwight McNeil, Neal Maupay and Salomon Rondon (and a few kids) is, undoubtedly, the worst set of attackers in the Premier League.

They get put in transition a lot. But it is an organization problem.
The issue is the midfield, I have no idea why he's having Onana and Iwobi push so high when we have the ball, it's baffling.

That being said when it works we do look like we can cut teams down the middle, as we did a fair bit today in the first 20, but then we have nothing at the end of it.

But that's why we're so open on counters or transition or whatever you want to call it. Massive gaps.

Its been horrible. It was horrible 2 weeks ago. It was horrible last week. It was horrible today.

We have bad players but there is absolutely no excuse to be this bad against a crap Bournemouth team. I'm embarrassed, I'm fed up, I don’t care if he gets sacked because he has no excuses.
I’m not denying it, it has been. But he has tried different little things.

The bottom line is we have no goal threat in the entire team, none. It was not addressed in the summer and this is the result of that awful decision to go into a season with a front 3 of Gray, McNeil and Gordon and Maupay being added later

Sack the manager, we may get a bounce for a game or 2 but the same issues will come home to roost

If this is t resolved we’re down, regardless of the manager

Don't say that

The happy clappers will get upset if you say our recruitment was crap. They don't like people saying that.

And then on top of that you have CBs who can't or won't step forward and compact that space. And also the wingers don't push high up either so eventually enough time and space opens for them to break the lines. A complete system failure.

We have to back someone, we have to give someone a proper chance to learn and develop a system and idea. Am not saying that he is, but any manager needs more time to implement an idea, style and team.

And yet a caretaker manager has just beat us 7-1 in the last 2 games.

We have just just played 3 games against teams that were below us and conceeded 9 goals and scored 1.

Other than Mike Walker I can't think of a worse manager for stats?

It was decent to a point - Coady and Tark smart deals for the fees, Onana a good prospect (being overplayed IMO but other options are crap tbf), Gueye sensible for the fee, but not being played right.

McNeil and Maupay were ridiculous for different reasons.

Maupay is a decent striker but needs to be playing in a system where there's numbers around him and plenty of cutbacks into the area, which we don't do. McNeil was just pointless.

Football needs to come back to basics. You need to be good at the following things to be good at football

Good in both 18 yard areas. Clinical in attack and alert in defence

Good at set plays at both ends

And good on transitions going both ways.

We are shocking in attack. We dont create close to enough and then miss big chances. In defence we give up a ton of shots on goal by being passive.

We carry no threat at set pieces. We are starting to look shaky on them at the other end.

We have no pace or quality in the team so can't launch an effective counter attack. At the other end, we'll its a complete disaster. Our two midfielders (Onana and Gueye) are dreadful in possession and just constantly give it away to set up transitions. And then our slow defenders are exposed or our full backs are left up the field. Its a complete mess on the transition.

I've not seen a side look this bad on the transition since those abysmal Sunderland and Villa of the past.

I hate how we've played in the last 4 games. I absolutely hate it. Its so crap.

Bad hypocrite mate, just a couple of weeks ago you wouldn’t hear a word of sacking him then you jump straight on the train on Tuesday
Maybe

But I'm very consistent on what should happen to managers who make changes to get us beat in cups. I wanted Benitez to go over it and Silva, so cant ignore it with Lampard.

I think his management in the last 4 games has been truly shocking.
