2022/23 Frank Lampard

I believe with better attacking plans we are fine. Not good but fine. 40 goals or so for the season. Enough to stay up.
Would love to know what our 'attacking plans' are?

Our primary No9 is injured 104% of the time, our back up striker is a shortarse who has long balls constantly whacked up to him which is pointless, and our other back up striker is 33 year old Venezuelan who is half the size of Venezuela and twice as immobile.

We are so poor and ineffective in the final third, it's hard to know what our 'plan' is; unless it's a mix of Tony G finding nobody with crosses, Gray running into nowhere and McNeil losing possession every four seconds.

If we’re sticking with Lampard, he absolutely has to be given some attacking reinforcements at the start of January. We can’t afford to go into the transfer window sitting on our hands and doing nothing before desperately trying to get someone in on the 31st. The World Cup break should mean Therwell has players lined up to bring in and a number of the dross squad players we have ready to ship out.

Don't disagree there.

I do feel we could be slightly better - that wouldn't be hard of course - but there's definitely a limit to what quality you can have when you've got Gray, Gordon and McNeil as your creative forwards.
And that's why i said 40 goals. I think a competent manager would have gotten more out of last year's side too.

Should have brought Mills and Cannon on at half time today. Sending the same players out is just telling players and fans that he thought the first half effort was acceptable. It wasn’t. Doucoure was awful when he came on last week and gets another chance today. Baffling.

Have no fear! I'm certain our illustrious, world class DOF is thumbing through his rolodex as we speak...

Raul Jiminez.
Pedro Neto.
Diogo Jota.
That big lad at Preston.
The little fella at Preston.
Anyone who has 3 good games in Qatar.

I guess the fact that there hasn't been any word as of yet from the board/club means that he is still in charge at least until our next game. I just hope that this is the right decision but I have serious reservations that he will be able to turn it around. Blaming players is an easy route but the lack of attacking intent has to come from him and the coach and not sure that he will find that balance between defending and attacking...

When we’ve just conceded 7 goals in a week to a side playing kieffer Moore up front (a player who’s having his first crack at top flight football aged 30 and has spent most of his career playing league one and lower) I don’t think you can say it’s just the quality of attackers we have that means we’ve failed to score in 5 of our last 6 games and have only managed more than one in a game twice in the first 17 games of the season.

His spreadsheets and whoscored.com tell him otherwise.

The man who said we shouldn’t move from goodison, having never set foot in it, is the all seeing oracle of football and everton
Bournemouth have similar level forwards and played through us at will.

We are bad but should not be that bad and there is no excuse to be that bad. The last 4 games have been some of the worst tactics I've ever seen from an Everton manager. They weren't just dull, they were just horrific.
