Sown my Webb's wonder lettuce plus my beetroot today ......don't forget this cold Spring in unheated greenhouse better to wait than so too early and sow the seed in small batches in a few weeks cycles to optimise your usage of each crop .....
I tend to prepare my seed tray of pan lot of plug trays two days before with my multi purpose compost waterwell and it will help warming up in the sunshine - then sow light cover with a sieve and cover with news paper to stop drying out remove papers soon as germination takes place watch out for seedlings damping off.......try not to kill them with kindness......just keep them moist not soaked...,

After the cold April if you have any Hydrangeas - it's time to cut last year's read flower heads off after leaving them on to protect this year's growth .....
Remember the name Hydro means they love water ......
They will flower in colour depending on the PH of your garden soil - e.g. A blue colour will flower pink on a line soil ......

Hil @Joey66 hope all is good with you.
About 10 years ago my mum in law sowed in a tray some apple pips which then grew, I planted the strongest of these in the garden which is very healthy and about 6 feet high.
It has never blossomed and therefore obviously never bore fruit, what could I do to get it to blossom or would that be impossible? I don't know what type of apple it is.

If they were old trees you probably have the male tree you need to plant a female tree of the same stock for cross pollination - nowadays the sell self pollinating trees yours are more than likely malling stock - you have been unlucky to get all male trees or from your pips Heinz 57 varieties all male apple trees if they bare no blossom the original Apple trees were grafted onto malling stock trees - a vigorous root fast grower on a good stock for blossom etc ... which were matched to produce a known variety - try pruning them in November hard back with the centre of the tree removed it may work?

It's just one tree I planted Joey.

Then you need a female variety, but they have to have comparability to bear nice Apples as you have a Heinze 57 variety ask at your local Garden centre, but many new varieties are now selling pollinators, with an apple worth eating Google Malling stock plus the pip that came up may be a nice apple but may revert back as it's grafted it is not a true clone of the parent Apple you sown ...,
Malling stock were a wild vitreous heathy strong growing root stock grafted onto a lovely tasting apple - ivariety ........
In truth your tree will have weaker roots system plus may be barren from frutiing unless you can get a close match in afemale tree to blossom & cross pollinate ask your mum if she can remember the variety that was s Sown?
Other than that buy a set pollinator tasty fruit apple tree from a known licensed stock they are not cheap but not that expensive ......
Bare rooted ones in october\November you can buy a big tree plant it & stake it......a self pollinator......

Cheers Joey I will put this on my to do list.

Ideal after the rain to cut your lawn then rake it through roughly to expose any bear patches - sow grass seed as an over sow, and sieve multi purpose compost lightly over the areas water in well to settle the compost into the seed .....ten after days cut your lawn related if you have any patches not germinated......
