Hes got to go with besic and mccarthy from now on with two wingers and barkley playing...maybe more defensive vs chelsea but after he needs to change it.

Ledson and barry on from the bench.

No one could be any worse. He can't even keep possession. Would rather have Hibbert in there. Gibson, Ledson, Barkley, how can any of these options be any worse?

I know its important that we have a hate figure, and i also think he gave the ball away a few times in the match but his covering was excelent yesterday.

ITs funny... Only his mistakes or weak points are mentioned on here. All the good he does is ignored or not seen. Managers, players and pundits alike point it out regulary.

Yet Besic, his plus points are magnified beyond belief and his mistakes and weak points completely ignored.

Barry and McCarthy still for me. Now McCarthy's back, there should be more opportunity for subbing/resting barry.

No it wasn't. He's a favourite of Martinez so it will be hard to force him to drop Barry but we need to start otherwise we have no shot at Europa. Besic and McCarthy are our future with Ledson on the bench.

Also Martinez is taking a huge risk. You can see how frustrated Besic is getting when getting subbed for Barry or even dropped. I fear he could risk losing his support. Barry is not worth it.

I'm not sure what game you was at mate, but to say his covering was bad is a bit odd.
The rest of your post has nothing to do with what i said.

I'm actually a bit gutted he never got a yellow card yesterday. It would have forced Martinez into playing a Besic-McCarthy / Besic-Barkley midfield against Chelsea.

When your mistakes are passing it directly to the opposition and creating good chances for the opposition, obviously fans are going to pick up on these mistakes.

if he had ever shown even the slightest inclination to rest or drop barry your argument would carry more weight, but one of the biggest problems and also why barry is coming in for more stick than maybe deserved, is that the manager has a very obvious blind spot with him

I see your point and agree, he does seem un droppable which clearly is not right. I think you also have to take into account mccarthy's injury tho which has most likely lead to him being on the field more than maybe would of been.

There were two occasions when his mistakes almost directly added to our already burgeoning "Goals Conceded from Unforced Errors" stat. I actually like Barry and, unlike some, think we should hold on to him. But he's being overused, his legs are creaking and he needs to be deployed sparingly to maximise his ability. There's no hiding from it, his mistakes stem from physical and psychological shortcomings that are magnified by fatigue. Besic is making a few bad decisions, typical of a 22 year old, that will iron themselves out with gametime.

Did you not notice the huge hole in the centre of our midfield which Liverpool players where able to dribble into. However we might just have a different understanding of what covering means - I thought he sat too deep which meant there was too much space in front of him.

Liverpools movement in that area was excellent especially in the second half. (we should take note) the three cm's all played well to cover the defence, all across the back four.

That's the biggest problem Barry has. When another team's movement is good he struggles to keep pace with it. He can still read the game really well, that doesn't leave you however that first yard you have in your head unfortunately now doesn't make up for the 2 yards he has lost in his legs.

I think he should be used sparingly when the situation is called for. I would like to see him used from the bench against tiring players and when McCarthy or Besic have picked up yellows. He can still do a job but I think at this stage he can't be relied upon to starter every week.
