Same here. I don't see why we'd need McCarthy if we had Gibson, Barry and Osman capable of playing behind Barkley. Hopefully Barry is better than I think he is too.
If you don't see why we need McCarthy you need to look closer at Osman's performance today

Osman is awful and always has been IMO and many others agree. If Barry came in perhaps Osman would be relegated to the reserves never mind the bench.

hes better than hitzelberger and neville .but hes 32 and way past his best.
its a body to stick on the bench and add to the depth a little .but its hardly a move which screams ambition or shows we are building for the future.

Sort of agree. I'd take Barry though, I'd also have a nibble on Rodders as a loan.
