A lovely example of your arrogant approach to posting. Keep it up, your popularity will soar.

This post was much more polite than what I was thinking, out of respect for our fine forum and its rules ;)

You asserted he was a one trick pony to which I made the appropriate reply, he is far from a one trick pony

I have been watching Barça for 20 years now and have been lucky enough to go to many games since I moved here three years ago including holding a season ticket this season. I have seen every game of Cuenca for Barça. although nothing of his time at Ajax. He also played previously for Sabadell just outside of Barcelona where most of my friends are from. From what I have seen of him, and what they have seen of him from his time with Sabadell, he is a pretty good example of a one-trick pony. A phrase my friends now love using for Tello also.

His time with the first team was when they were arguably he best team to have played this game, certainly the best I´ve seen in my years of watching football. It wasn´t hard to look okay and get chances and score. However, individually, what he does on the ball is not much more than a Stewart Downing or Kieran Richardson type winger. Twist in and out and put over a multitude of crosses to varying degrees of success. His passing was okay and his shooting no more than decent. A normal player with a career ahead of him at a decent level, but for me from watching him he doesn´t warrant first team opportunities at Everton and I wouldn´t be too interested in taking him.

However, he could prove me wrong. It´s possible to be wrong sometimes, you should reflect on that in between passing your day on various football forums to show people how much you know about Barça.

You´d get laughed at by most fans here with the way you go on to be honest.

You didn´t. You took the stance that your opinion of him is the correct one, so your only reply should be that I haven´t watched him. It´s a dismissive arrogant response. Some posters are fond of this approach unfortunately.

IN MY OPINION, you are wrong, but entitled to your view. Even if you haven´t exactly described what the above average qualities of your best buddy Ibi are.

When you claim he's a one trick pony then yes, that isn't an informed opinion much less someone who claims to have followed the club for 2 decades...What is that one trick, incidentally?

Afellay can play anywhere in midfield or as a winger...He has technical skill, pace & a terrific shot...He too, like many players at a big club, suffered from an inopportune injury that saw him drift out of the rotation - not due to a lack of skill

You got any pets mate?

100%...If Lucho is able to acquire a good #9 there has been speculation that he might go out on loan after the preseason...but it would more than likely be to another Primera side

Except he's played Barcelona football since he was a child and been a massive success on every level for them...I suspect he will make an even bigger name for my club

Hi Champ, I know he's a good player. Every level you go up it gets more difficult to impose yourself on a game. That means subtle differences become more important and the tactical ability of the other sides coach can play a big part.

If you think sides are going to leave him one on one with a full back time after time you're mistaken. It may be that Barca are good enough to work those situations anyway against some teams but not the very top ones.

He won't see much of the ball and he won't be able to use his best attributes against the top sides for Barca IMO.

I don't disagree but so far, he has shown his quality regardless of the level - that is the sign of an outstanding talent....For Barcelona's first team, he has yet to show it but I believe he's ready, even at 20 and even if it's seeing as few minutes as he did with Everton

You have to remember, as well, that he would be playing in an attack of Neymar & Messi...So if he isn't going to be left 1v1 then that means one of the others will be free and ultimately that is the goal....I think the bigger issue that was shown with Everton is that beating defenders in acres of space isn't really a challenge when his parent club is most often facing parked buses that require players being able to take on and beat their marker - something I think Gerard is obviously skilled at

The way through a parked bus isn't trying to skin a full back, it's about playing through them with precise passing and vision. Something he showed nothing of at Everton. He only looked a real player when running into space and using his pace.

Exactly. As I said I think he'll make more of himself away from Barca as he won't see much of the ball. He's not going to get acres of space as you seem to agree with by saying you face parked buses.

I think for him to make a name for himself as one of the best in the world it'll be away from Barca. Atletico Madrid would be ideal for him

Enrique has just been appointed and wants to have a good look at all of his players.
I expect Deulofeu will be involved in preseason and it is at that stage a decision will be made on
what the season ahead holds for him.I think it is way to early to say if he will be a first team player next season.
From what I have seen, many of the flaws that convinced Barcelona to send him out on loan still exist in his game.
I think he may well go out on loan again, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was sent to a different league to learn different
league toexperience different techniques.
