Gerard Deulofeu

I was worried that we wouldn't get the same Deulofeu back after his stint away. And we didn't. He's come back miles better, and has single-handedly outplayed all of Stoke's ex-Barca contingent in a fraction of the time. Long may it continue.

Well said.

Clearly he is in career form right now, so glad it's with us!

what frustrates me is geri always looks to put that low cross in at the near post, in that really dangerous area between the keeper and the centre half.

some nonce like lawrenson would probably call it the 'corridor of uncertainty'

yet lukaku, naismith etc are just never onto it and it ends up flashing past the defence.

Geri's decision making is now light years ahead of where he was two seasons ago, before he was magic when running on instinct but usually everything went belly up when he stopped and had to think about it. Not so now, I'm so impressed with how ready to play he is now looking.

To me his biggest improvement, and its a vast one has nothing to do with setting up goals, crossing or beating men it was his cover play in defence, his willingness to work his socks rather than sulk when things used to go wrong for him. His entire play has matured and with it his contribution grows. Tbh I bet the shoite are quaking in their boots, filling their kecks and planning ways to kick him off Goodison on Sunday, bet they won't get near him.

Imagine when he's the finished article as there is much more to come;)

Big change in his final product. No longer the dash to the goal line and trying to pull back a cross which is frankly bread and butter to good centre halves. This tactic of whipping a cross in from level with the edge of the box behind the defence is so much more difficult to defend.

It may cause defenses to either double up on him or defend a little deeper to reduce the space between the line and the keeper. If so it will create more space on the edge of the box for the likes of Barkley to get a shot away.

Will be very interesting to see how this develops tactically.

Think it's good to have him and Lennon competing for the slot on the right side. One to get the full back knackered, then the other to bring on to finish them off.

Forgot how quick Lennon was. He looked absolutely rapid when he came on last night. Great option off the bench. Sorry I doubted him.

Onto it twice last night.
