What exactly do you think was achieved by staying quiet for 60 seconds? As you rightly say the royal family were and are totally oblivious to it, so just who do you think you were 'respecting'?
What do you believe a minutes silence would achieve?
It would demonstrate that 40 thousand Evertonians are decent human beings that care about more than their own self indulgence.

What do you think was achieved by booing?

I know full well that the whole nation doesn’t respect or even want the Royal family, I’m indifferent to them myself but I wouldn’t let myself down or my club, who I came to the occasion to support, by booing or shouting during the sixty seconds of silence.
See this is what amazes me. You admit that you are indifferent to them, yet you think that you would be letting yourself down by not showing respect for them. Utterly baffling.

Being silent for a minute when told shows that you are a decent human being? lol
As for what booing 'achieves' - absolutely nothing but it shows dissent. In the same way as the "I'm no royalist but" brigade staying silent 'achieves' absolutely nothing but shows their acquiescence.

A lot of bedroom revolutionists on here.
A lot who would talk about sharing the inheritance and then plan all of their own estate to their own kids.
Still no alternative candidate for head of state promoted either that most would tolerate. Blair? Boris? Corbyn? Fookin Simon Cowell would get more votes.
Keep throwing stones and spouting socialist values (up until the confidentiality of the ballot box when you vote Tory)
You are anti-Evertonian in your views. An outlier.

These anti royalists bedroom warriors are more annoying than climate change nutjobs gluing themselves to trains.

Nobody cares that you don't like the royals.

Move on.
'anti royalist bedroom warrior, climate change nutjobs'
You should learn some respect. fyi I'm pushing 60, married, raised four children, all in jobs and uni educated as am I, so if you've nothing to contribute apart from pathetic inane insults, move on.

Total coincidence, but I was in a meeting today at work. A lot of meetings in Australia start with acknowledgement of country which basically recognises that aboriginal people are the traditional owners of the land. Quite often, and was the case today, this will be followed by a minutes silence for all those who died back in the colonial days.

No doubt some of those would have been rapists, murderers, thieves etc, but I stayed silent for a minute. Because it is polite, and respectfull to all others in the meeting.

It's really not that hard.

It is hard for some unfortunately.
It’s how they were brought up with that famous scouse chip on the shoulder no doubt. Always the victims…
