I would love for Brands to be 100% set at the position when walking into contract negotiations with Mina's agent. I just don't know if it's realistic.

Not much to disagree with in the OP. If we can see it, then so can Ancelotti and Brands. Just need them to do something about it.

Would love a forward with real pace and dribbling ability.
 
4-3-3.

RB who can play every single game.
CM who can carry the ball and pass forward. Gets a few goals. A much better Gomes.
RW with pace who is good enough to start every game. Scores goals.
ST who can push DCL.
GK if we can.

It's concerning if Carlo is serious about not looking for a CM in the summer. I think that position, plus RB, are the most glaring weaknesses in our squad. That's not a critique of Coleman, but he's not getting any younger.

I also doubt that Kean will want to come back at the end of the season, so hopefully Carlo's comments about him are merely to prod PSG into making an offer. Can't imagine relying on DCL, King and Tosun next season.

As always, this is just an analysis thread, to see which areas we need to improve, any suggestions are welcome and any mistakes will be fixed.

The thing that stands out for me is the number, it's very low, in the past I've put out of contract players in and youth, so the numbers won't be like for like.

But :

We need a GK, whether that's a number 1 or somebody to put real pressure on Pickford at least or another Olsen, we lack a GK
2 RBs are fine, considering Godfrey and Holgate can play there, but, well you all know, 1 In, 1 Out
2 LBs are fine, see above, you would hope Niels gets more time next season and with hopefully Small knocking on the door, for now, we ok
5 CBs is also ok, might be prudent to get Branflakes, yes, you read that right, out on loan again, but depends on whether we wish to play 3 at the back much, any Outs would need replacing
CM, ugh, just ugh, Allan and Doucs are of the required level, but, nar, I can't even cope, blowtorch and pliers this whole area
Widers, again, numbers-wise im fairly happy, but would love 2 Out 2 In if your asking
Strikers, Kean is there, but, well it doesn't need saying, lets all forget Tosun is a thing, 2 Out, 2 In

Agree GK in. Think Pickford remains number 1 in net, so will likely be a journeyman who can 'get around the lads'.
RB in, keep Coleman so we can make an iron bust out of him for the statue at the new Big Dock Stadium and potentially send JJK out on loan again. Depends what he wants to do tbf.
Butcher the centre midfield with two in two out (tara Fabian Delph) ... can we dismantle JPG for spare parts and sell em on ebay?
Bernard (+ ideally Iwobi) out, two young lads in (one for peanuts, one fairly well established) - AG back out on loan again? Give him Norwich as part of the Max Aarons deal pls.
If Moise stays don't need a ST, if he goes may as well get a couple in. Who is Cenk Tosun? Asking for a friend

Whilst we have an embarrassment of 'riches' at CB, I don't think we have a good enough starting partnership. If someone comes up on the market then we could give it a go (Koulibaly, anyone?)
 

When you look at our wingers we don't have one genuine winger do we? They are all either wide forwards or players who prefer to play inside. Gordon is the only one with potential to be.
 
I see our strongest XI next season something like this-

I’d like to see 4 incoming.
Aarons sounds like the RB we are after,.
A dominant CB to play with Godfrey.
A new midfielder (would like Ward-Prowse) and another striker to put pressure on DCL / Richy.

I’d keep Gylfi in the squad as he’s the only one from our current back up midfielders who offers any sort of goal threat, but no contract extension, let him run it down.
Davies also for the squad but I’d gladly take an upgrade if possible.
Sell one of Keane or Mina and replace with a solid CB.

keep for bench
Pickford or Olsen—Holgate—Keane or Mina—Nkounkou—Gylfi—Davies—Coleman—Gbamin if he’s not broken completely.

Try to offload
Iwobi— Keane or Mina—Gomes—Bernard—all the other guff we have like Tosun, Delph, Kenny, Besic etc and Kean as he’d fetch a reasonable fee.
