I haven't really followed golf at all over the last few years, but over the last few days I've been totally engrossed in this LIV Golf story. Amazing what a bit of scandal can do to draw eyes to a sport! Been very interesting watching golfing podcasts on YouTube etc, and hearing the arguments and opinions coming from both sides of the debate. I'll tune in for the opening event for free on YouTube on Thursday just out of curiosity. It'll be VERY interesting to see how things play out at the US Open next week, if / when Mickelson, Johnson, Na et al all decide to compete.
 

Now golf isn't on terrestrial TV I'm not really bothered. Sports people are money grubbing sods anyway. Except the darters.

Well apparently DJ’s latest net worth of $50m in April of this year, plus his estimated PGA Tour Pension Fund of $100m (estimated!) is not enough! It’s being reported today that he may be receiving $150m for just joining the LIV league, and that’s before any prize money he “earns”!
 

Less work, more money, who wouldn't want that! Enjoying watching the PGA panicking, corrupt as they come and trying to paint themselves as the good guys.

That's what I don't get, all the wailing about how awful it all is.

The arrogance of the PGA (believing they're untouchable) has got us to this point.

I'd imagine the week after the US Open a few more will jump ship, and that's the PGA done in their current form.

At least he’s been honest and said it’s purely financial and for his families future.
No waffle.
DJ has overcome some ‘issues’ and the amount of money involved is mind boggling.

The money is brilliant and you can count on one hand the number of countries in the world who are in a position to criticize the Saudi’s without exposing their own skeletons in their wardrobes. What's the go with the PGA being arrogant etc, genuine question as i watch golf but don't read anything outside of the leaderboards about the sport
