Lost 9lb in the last 2 months through better diet and regular winter base training. I'm signed up and committed to my 24hr solo skate race in June, and skate+running Berlin double marathon in September.
Feeling great!
:)

11.5 stone now.

CBA anymore, go the gym a few times a week in work - have developed some biceps and some little strength but need to sort my man boobs out

chest only from now on

just starting up again now. During the Football Season in NZ (April through October) do a twice weekly run 10-12km through some Native Bushwalks in our area on top of the 3 trainings a week. Mostly Hills and Steps with dirt paths. Going to broaden my horizons slightly from the cardio i usually have done. Got myself a routine of 20 pull ups, 10 chin ups, 50 crutches, 50 sit ups, 100 press ups just after i get up. Any suggestions for other exercises I could be doing that don't require equipment?

They wont go away by working out just your chest. You cant spot lost fat, but any sort of weight training will help lose fat.

Went for a run last night, not too far...about 4k....... In between though I got in 3 sets of step sprints on the beach..... Basically a set of steps about 25 high.... Sprint up, walk down x3....... 60 second rest then repeat ...... Did this 3 times ( 9 sprints in all ).... It was tough but the buzz I get will be in a couple of weeks time when I can breeze through the same exercise..... It's good to feel good.... My aim is to drop about 2 stone.... Not in a major rush to do it but would be nice for the summer.

if you so crunches and sit ups, especially after waking, you're going to ensure you have a lower back problem caused by degenerative disks when you're older. Ditch them and do planks instead.

If you don't want to add any resistence, try doing pistol squats. You could also buy a kettlebell. Suicide sprints, burped, squat thrusts, clap push ups, one arm push ups, various exercises off a Swiss ball. There's lots of things you can do.

My form on the bike has dipped quite a bit. Obviously not getting out as much due to the weather but I'm still playing footy and rugby fairly regularly. I don't know if its the weather, reduction of time on the bike or lack of goals, or all of them combined. I'm still beating times set this time last year though so I guess that's a positive.

Started olympic lifting a month ago for something different for the winter, really enjoying it.
good for strength, and for mobility.

snatching 45kg already (99.2 lbs)

Has been grotty. Even on the nice days, the lanes are generally in such a state that you come back caked in all sorts. Been resigned to a whole lot of turbo work for most of last month.

Im thinking of getting one where you can plug it in to a laptop. Set it on mont ventoux etc. Would like to do it as cheaply as possible though.

Do a search on YouTube for Ciclismo Le Grande Salite. They have a whole host of videos with Davide Cassani and some other bloke riding up some famous climbs in real time. It's not quite the same as the VR ones you can get, but a lot cheaper. Shows you their speed, gear, gradient of the climb etc.

I did a workout last night with the Mortirolo video on and some music

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDxdawsAEFE

Obviously it's in Italian so you might not understand what they're talking about, but you can always put some music on over the top.

Just done another 3 mile run after work.....did some sprints up steps again... Felt brilliant last night after running..... Feel awful tonight.... Oh well....perseverance is the key.
